Just how casual is casual anyway?

God I hate people like this. Just because I enjoy Civilization doesn't mean I can't occassionally chill out and play Angry Birds during a bus ride or play a neat little browser game while I wait for a file to download. And I don't have a problem with people who only play games like this. They...

I REALLY Want to Like You!

Psychonauts. I was initially interested because of all the people saying it's the greatest game of all time. At first I thought I was in for a treat with all the amusing characters, good voice acting and nice level design, and then it made me actually play the game. Jesus Christ, the...

2K Reveals The Bureau: XCOM Declassified

I didn't really like the idea of having an XCOM shooter at first, but this actually looks pretty interesting.

Jim & Yahtzee's Rhymedown Spectacular: A Tale of Two Poets

I'm surprised Jim managed to resist rhyming "city" with "shitty".

*Insert game here* is teaching our kids to *insert action here*

My child played Skyrim and spent the next week wandering the countryside, punching dragons in the face.

Salem Dev: MMOs Without Permadeath Aren't Proper Games

This is stupid. Permadeath is fun in some games, but if you think every game should have it you're an idiot. Imagine Skyrim with permadeath. You spend 100 hours improving and levelling up your character, only to make a simple mistake and die. Have fun doing all of those quests all over again...

Notch Voted as TIME's Second Most Influential Person in the World

I'd say he's definitely influential, but the most influential person in the world? Hell no.

So how do you feel about Margaret Thatcher's death

I had no idea that the internet was full of working class northeners from the '80s. But seriously, celebrating the death of someone is pretty sick. I didn't see this much celebration when Osama died, for God's sake. She hasn't even been Prime Minister for years anyway, why celebrate now? It...

How many people were outraged when Ned Stark...(spoilers)

I don't see why you'd get angry about this. It would be a pretty terrible story if the good guys always won and nothing bad ever happened.

    Bethesda VP Defends Day-One DLC

    EA EXECUTIVE EATS BABY

For a second, before it had loaded completely, I thought it was a news article.

When EA falls, Ubisoft will rise.

Ubisoft have bad business practices too, we're just more likely to accept it because they make really good games. I can ignore DRM if the game itself is really good, I can't ignore it for an already mediocre game.

Poll: Critics, how can they get it so wrong (not on all occasions but)?

Just because a reviewer has different opinions to the general public, doesn't mean they're wrong. That's how opinions work. Admittedly some places like IGN and Gamespot are probably just getting paid by the publishers or something (not always, but sometimes).

Segments in your favorite games that you absolutely dread having to go through.

The 'Ambush' level in Thief 2. All the streets look too similar so I get always get lost and end up rushing through it by the end. I'm also not a huge fan of the 'Blood' level. The first part is alright but the second half is linear and boring. Plus, I've never really liked the fantasy elements...

Escape to the Movies: Spring Breakers

I honestly can't tell if this is a joke review or not.
