Is it possible, or legal, for my ISP to throttle my internett? USA

Do you have a bandwidth cap? It's common practice for companies to throttle aggressively after you exceed a bandwidth cap. Also the contracts are usually carefully worded so they don't actually promise that you'll get the listed speed. They'll say something like "up to 20mbps down" to cover...

VR - how big is the image??

The first devkit fills your vertical FOV and most of your horizontal FOV. It depends a bit on how far from your face you have it set, but it's a lot bigger than a cinema screen. I haven't used the second devkit so I don't know if that's any different.

Need help with a No-Face costume

The description says "25cm x 18cm (9.8''x7.1'')", though it doesn't say if that's the mask itself or the shipping dimensions. It seems pretty big based on the picture they have there of someone wearing it.

    New name for american futbol

Another commonly used term is "gridiron", referring to the pattern of lines on the field. But really, if you live in a place where futbol is more common than American football then they should probably just learn to live with it, because that's what most people are going to call it.

Poll: Pee-Cee Gamer Jenuses Plz Halp

If you don't plan on overclocking then you don't need the K model CPU or the Z87 chipset. You'd be fine with a regular 4670 and an H87 chipset. You also wouldn't need the water cooler, but if it comes with something else you might as well use it. It'll be a lot quieter than the stock HSF.

Building a Gaming PC - Let me know if I picked the right parts

The nice thing about a desktop is you have two extra RAM slots that you can use when you decide you need more. So if later down the line 8GB isn't enough, you can just add another 8GB if things start to choke. And if you plan to downsize the SSD, I'd check the benchmarks for the model you...

Building a Gaming PC - Let me know if I picked the right parts

Everything looks good to me. I wouldn't worry about the power supply unless you plan on Crossfiring way bigger cards. I have an overclocked 4770k (with a 212 Evo cooler) and a GTX 760 that don't even pull 350W running a demanding game. As long as you don't replace the video card with two of...

    Laptop heating problems

It's pretty common for laptop hardware to run hotter than desktop hardware, if just because the cooling ability is greatly reduced in a laptop form factor. If you're worried about if the system is getting hotter than it should be, you could use something like RealTemp to check the temperatures...

    3D models

Manga Studio is good if you're putting together a comic instead of an animation, but if you just want reference poses then you'd be better off with Poser. Manga Studio's 3D is pretty limited in comparison, though they did integrate some of Poser's posing abilities in MS5 with a bunch of common...

    3D models

You can find older versions for like $30 on Amazon or other online retailers from time to time. The latest version is usually really expensive, but if all you want to do is pose a character you probably don't need all the newest features. I believe they have trials for all their software, too...

    3D models

Poser is pretty much exactly that. [http://poser.smithmicro.com/] It has a few default models and poses and you can adjust each bone and joint individually. You can also control lighting, clothing, and hair, and import other models to fill out a scene. I'm not aware of any freeware...

wait, in the US you don't have Coffee Crisp, Aero, or Smarties?

We do have Tim-Tams in the US, but they're made by Pepperidge Farm and sold only in Target stores. From what I've read they're exactly the same as the Arnott's ones, since they're made in the same factory.

wait, in the US you don't have Coffee Crisp, Aero, or Smarties?

So I just got back from the supermarket (in Rochester, NY, so not some sort of specialty confectioner's shop), after picking up an Aero bar, a Coffee Crisp, a Wispa, a Dairy Milk and a few other things (I forgot to look for Smarties, but I've had them before). Didn't like the Aero, though I've...

wait, in the US you don't have Coffee Crisp, Aero, or Smarties?

I can get all of those candy bars at the supermarkets in my area (except the Kinder Surprise). They're in the imported foods section, not with the rest of the candy. And we have Smarties, but our Smarties are different from yours. I believe our Smarties are called Rockets in the UK...

Arstech's frist impressions of the stream controller.

Ideally, Valve would have an option to switch between analog and digital control like a lot of gamepads do. But the extra ridges could at least help localize the user's thumb when using it digitally. Or they could even be trenches so they're less obtrusive when sliding but still give a tactile...
