Jim Sterling reviewed Zelda BOTW today, then angry comments exploded, site down multiple times...

It's actually quite frightening just how similar his opinion is to mine in relation to several games. I had the same peeves in relation to BotW, while also recognizing that it is a good game at its heart. I grew tired with Nintendo's gimmickiness over the years, and that's showing now, bright as...

The Elder Scrolls "Perfectly Suited" for MMOs

I do agree with the basic premise proposed: The Elder Scrolls IP intrinsically makes for good MMOing. There are some issues, though. 1 - It is a game of freedom. It actually shuns players who want a directed experience (yes, even Skyrim). Putting restrictions on top of it without a VERY...

BioShock Infinite Steam Pre-Orders Now Include a Copy Of XCOM

I was going for the preorder, because this preorder model is not bad, until I saw that you can already buy the Season Pass DLC thingy for the new Bioshock. Then I closed Steam. I will not support day-one DLC and Season Passes, ever. I'll get both titles in 2014's Winter sale, complete and...

So... what's your FAVORITE movie? No wishy-washy answers!

Short Cuts, by Mr. Altman. A powerful movie, based on a haunting book. Hard to ignore.

Poll: Where do you live? Now with better poll options!

Brazil, here. So, I'm in the Other category. Not very flattered, I must say =/

    Your first PC Gaming Rig

Doubled, probably due to old PC gremlins, since we brought up the subject. Sorry about that.

    Your first PC Gaming Rig

Well, I remember that it was an Hercules-standard monochrome PC, with both kinds of floppies and one of the first Brazilian modems. Probably around 1987. I played the old Ultimas, Wizardry, Hot Rod, Karateka, Conan and such. Good times.

    The Elder Scroll's series.

All I want for TES 6 is: - More spell effects and a spellmaker. Pretty please. - A few more melee options, and some sort of skill crossing with Magic, such as temporary elemental enchantment on the fly, or Illusion-based attacks. - Mysticism needs to come back. Yes, seriously. - Static...

What is your opinion of the new Windows 8?

I think W7 is probably the last Microsoft OS I'll ever use. The person who designed placement and layering in W8 should be given a nice crunchy dish of glass shards to enjoy. All in all, other posters were quite elucidative about my problems, so I'll leave it at that.

    Rare stuff you own

Hmm, let me see... I have dozens of original PC games in their glorious boxes. Many Ultimas (all with the cloth maps and fake moonstones), Fallout 1, many Might & Magic, Doom 2, D&D SSI titles, etc, etc. Most are floppies, some are early CDs. My favorite is probably the Beta CD for Ultima...

Poll: The Value of a Human Life

A teacher that proposes such conundrum is either cluelessly bored or in search for a new career.

    "Morrowind Overhaul 3" Modernizes Morrowind

No mods are 'must haves', simply because people want different things in their games. If you have any trouble with something within Morrowind, odds are there is a mod that fixes/changes it. Check MorrowindNexus, and don't be afraid to experiment. Morrowind is such a wonderful game. It is...

45 Minutes with The Elder Scrolls (wall of text warning)

What about Arena and Daggerfall??? Seriously now, Morrowind is the game that has consumed most hours in a life that had plenty of gaming around. The world has SO much character, and it is a gritty place, where you can be put down rather easily if you simply wade into combat with recklessness...

    Favourite Animated Scene

Yomiko is probably the best 'hero' in all Animes I've ever seen. Also, 'The Book of Kells' has some of the best Art Direction in all Western animated movies I won't evoke Studio Ghibli, because everyone should know they are amazing, even when raped by the Disney treatment.
