EA did much the same thing with the Battlefield franchise. Still Brilliant games, but in some cases...lacking. (Or, in ME3's case, a roll coaster ride that ends in a crash into a brick wall.)

Indeterminate eastern seaboard American with a smattering of English when talking to my friends and family, formal/semi formal faux English upper class when talking to strangers or persons of importance. I can also do a passable faux Irish/Scottish and a bit Australian, but I tend to slip back...
Some...others...(IE: Black pool, Cockney) not so much. I personally adopted a British accent (I'm American) after moving to the north, and being teased for "sounding like a cowboy". Nobody teases me anymore :P
That didn't matter, muskets were so inaccurate that hitting a single target beyond 50 yards was pretty much impossible. Not to mention the fact that everyone wore colorful uniforms, because it was easier to tell who was who in the heat of battle.
