Evolution is just mutations in the replication of the DNA from parents. Depending on natural selection, the good ones get passed on through the generations, while the not as effective ones get lost in time. So as we last longer, we will have situations where mutations get passed down and spread...

Not really. It's only awkward to me if they don't give a strong handshake. I have always given a strong handshake to everyone. Ever sense I was a little kid I gave strong handshakes to show respect to people, so I find it odd that people would ever give limp ones.
