'High' is a setting. It's usually independent from resolution. Have a look at the options menus in most games. You'll notice that the 'quality' presets are seperate from things such as resolution. This news is simply that the consoles are using the 'high' preset at their respective resolutions.

I doubt it, seeing as the 460 is about 4x faster haha. The question is, really, what the PS3/360 versions are going to look like when the PC version obviously isn't even allowed to scale down that far (the minimum specs are basically my PC I had circa 2009, which compared to last gen consoles...

GPUs always list graphics cores, generally have to google the specs though :). The main issue is that the listed GPU here has more shader cores than an R9 290X (2560 cores). Which would be insanely powerful (as in, more powerful than the best PC GPUs, so yeah, not happening based on that alone)...

From PC Gamer, this box has an AMD multi core CPU, R9 270X and all the usual stuff like 500GB HDD, wifi ect. for $500. So it's more powerful than the PS4 (before anyone brings up optimisation, the PS4 has a long way to go before it's even on par with PC tech that it's as powerful as on paper...

It is very difficult for Valve too. Plus all those tiny indie studios on PC who offer multiplayer. Very difficult indeed. They're all bleeding cash for online play. It's a small wonder Valve even finds the money to keep their gas and electric turned on. I totally understand a multi-billion...

They are cracking on with the game :P People keep throwing cheddar at them, so they can get more tech, hire more people ect. for the new features. They aren't chasing funding goals at the expense of making the game :) Also, this seems like it could be an amazing way to fund new AAA...

That would only affect the online components, since they work very similarly to the xbox live service (which is actually why they're treated with such disdain, xbox live matchmaking ect. only really works well in massive titles where there are tons of players and even then it's a bit squiffy)...
