Sounds like someone got a case of the power-happies. I hate idiots who do that (especially since I'm a moderator and/or admin on a number of forums and some people just don't trust moderators or admins full stop because of the actions of a few morons).

Ah, but what you consider something good to say, others don't. This applies in real life as well as forums. Sometimes (though fortunately not commonly), in order to get anywhere, you need to be a bit of a git.
