(I know that post was very US-centric, but that's where I live and it's my frame of reference. So I MIGHT be stretching it a little here without realizing it.)
A lot of it is thanks to the videotape boom of the 1980s. Since videos were less restricted by film industry censorship than theatrical movies and TV were, a huge number of super-violent, disturbing, ugly movies appeared regularly on shelves. They were massively controversial, especially in the...
Philosopher's Stone (to hell with the pointless rename!) is personally my favorite. Now, I wouldn't say it's the BEST of the series in terms of quality, but it does a great job of introducing the world and characters as well as being a good stand-alone story, and it's the one I reread the most...
You know, personally, I thought that the first Resident Evil game really DID have a pretty good story. It did a really great job of keeping an aura of eeriness and mystery, and when the solutions were finally revealed it was legitimately exciting and shocking. The later games' stories weren't...
I'm not believing anything about Half-Life 3. I'm not even sure if it's being made. I'm glad I haven't played any of the games, because if I was a fan, I'd pretty much have gone insane by now!
I adore Gravity Falls. Mostly because its hilarious, but also partly because Mabel and Dipper ARE my sister and I. Like, we're basically the same people.

Awww. Well, I'll miss you. Good luck on your future endeavors. And I give you either my congratulations, or my condolences, for whatever private matter it was that forced you to quit.
It's frankly baffling how many idiotic mistakes Sony has been making. As someone who only owns Nintendo and Sony systems, I must say I'm envious of Microsoft fans- the House of Gates isn't immune to being a big dumb corporation, lord no, but it has its sh*t together.
I find it a little hard to swallow that they were planning this "for a long time" (considering how they clearly stated that there would not be any female marines, but this is still obviously a good thing, and I'm glad that it won't delay development yet again.
Also: playable Ripley and...
I like the look of these designs, though I don't agree with all of them. Pyro should still hide her face (she's not a Pyro without a mask!), and Soldier should be older, and less pretty- she's a veteran, after all, if these are indeed simple "genderbent" versions of the male characters.
