The Official Lego DeLorean Is Finally Here

The 1/28/1958 date is the day that Lego first patented the Lego brick. Cool little detail.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown Has Permadeath For A Reason

I hope this is true; I definitely miss the 10-person squads from the original.

DMCA Forces Massive MapleStory Lawsuit Win

I'm sure Nexon will take the money they just won (assuming they get it) and put it right into the game to make it appeal more to those on the UMaple server. Right? /sarcasm off

Humble Bundle Mojam Raises Big Bucks For Charity

The games aren't perfect, but it's nice to see these guys coming together to do some good in the world, and having the live stream on in the background all weekend was lots of fun. Good on them. I donated, and I'm getting 3 games that are fun diversions for a few hours. I don't get the hate.

Without a Table: Playing D&D Virtually

This made me think about renewing my Insider subscription... but I've kind of moved on from 4th edition. I'm still undecided.

    Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Review

I'm looking forward to getting this. The demo was fun.

    Children and Gaming

This syncs up exactly with my experience with my son. He has trouble contextualizing violence that is explicit, so I keep it away from him as much as possible. Of course, things like Looney Tunes, he finds hilarious. I also wonder if this is a case of gamer parents trying to get their kids...

Xbox 360 Factory Workers Threaten Mass Suicide

"This American Life" did a really good piece on Foxconn this weekend. Apparently they've had so many suicides that they've had to put up massive nets to catch people. Also: the workers are like 12 years old. Good times...

Speak Your Mind in the Next Version of Dungeons & Dragons

Eh. Maybe it's my age or the fact that events in my life keep coming at me so quickly, but I feel like I JUST bought fourth edition (even though I bought it back when it first came out). I'm going to play test this new edition, and hopefully I'll like it as much as Mr. Tito has. I love...

Speak Your Mind in the Next Version of Dungeons & Dragons

Play tests are always a good thing, and I'm glad that they seem to be taking things seriously this time around. I'm almost wondering if this is too soon. Will there be edition burn out?

[UPDATE] Players Banned for Breakdancing in Star Wars: The Old Republic

The bug is there. It's going to get exploited. I'm fairly certain there was a better solution to this than handing out bans. Show the customer a little bit of respect.

The State of Dungeons & Dragons: Future

This has been a great series. It's been interesting to see what the designers of the game and its competitors think about the whole thing. I like that Mike Mearls sees the problems and is working to correct it. I think the $100 million dollar mark won't work as well in this hobby...

    The State of D&D: Present

I was a fan of 4th edition until I realized that my group wasn't actually roleplaying anymore; we were instead playing a miniatures game. After they, we went back to Mutants and Masterminds (and DC adventures) and Pathfinder, both games strike a good balance of combat and roleplaying.

Brink Goes Free on Steam to Celebrate New Clan Site

I tried to like Brink, I really did. And I'd like to see more games like it, but the lag issue took so long to fix that I was essentially playing a game that was so fundamentally flawed that it wasn't worth it to me. Haven't touched it since. I think I did download the free DLC though.

Netflix Splitting Streaming and Rental Services into Two Companies

This is a dumb idea on Netflix's part. That sound you hear has got to be their stock falling through the floor. Also... it's Qwikster. With a W. And I think that's part of the problem.
