How DLC changed my gaming habits

The pause problem is another matter. Usually, when DLC comes out (not the day 1 stuff), I'm done with a game. Either I have beaten it, or I'm bored with it. With a beaten game, do I want to return to a character that has been laid to rest probably several months ago, reload a save before...

How DLC changed my gaming habits

Come to think of it, DLC is kinda like americans use their money. It's buying in slices, like with a credit payment. I might not be good with money, but I would prefer to buy a game with all content, right on the spot. Sure, let them take 4 years making it, then selling it for 120? or so...

How DLC changed my gaming habits

With the number of game media personas talking about DLC, I took a loo at how my gaming (and game buying) habits changed with the introduction of DLC to most high profile games. I hadn't really thought about what changed with DLC. I can remember being angry at fuckups with Fallout 3 (which I...

Have you ever refused to play because of crappy controls?

Yes. Silent Hill Homecoming. I play with inverted Y axis. The game offered the option, and it went smoothly, until I tried to aim once. Turns out, in aiming mode, the inversion isn't active. I've contacted Konami, and they said, it was intended. Konami. Never again.

    Shadowrun Returns Alpha Footage

It looks awesome. And the preorder prices are reasonable. The combat looks a bit like XCom.

Edge: Next-gen Xbox games 'will require online connection'

Yay, finally we have a downtime whenever Microsoft needs some maintenance time. If you ask me, this was what really was missing from consoles. Oh, and of course, who can forget the old console scene, people still playing Gamecube, Dreamcast even today. I bet the new XBox will be a hit in 10...

    Advice for the Witcher 2

I did not like the game, so you know where I'm coming from. The combat is different, unintuitive, but looks great. For the optimum story immersion, you'd either have played the first one and have checked out the novels and at best the wiki, or while playing the second one you need the wiki on...

    FTL : W-0 L-50

I've won alot of ways. Usually, getting a high enough evasion seems to be necessary. Other than that, once I kept 2 bombs in my bay, fighting with mostly lasers up until the end boss, then switching to bombs. With enough ammo, they can lock down the final boss soooo fast. Stop the drone system...

A question for SWTOR players, about KOTOR

Taris is still the dullest planet ever. There may be awful waypoints on Belsavis and one might complain about Coruscants broken up nature, but Taris still tops everything. It's repetitive, boring, full of nasty monsters with long debuff times, climbs, repetitive and all in all there's not a...

games to get me into turn based strategy?

I'd heavily suggest Heroes of Might and Magic 3. It's a little dated, but at least it's cheap to get, and it's still one of my favorites. Other than that, if you're not into the whole fantasy genre, Master of Orion 2 is still a heavy hitter. Older as well, but kickass still.

    NeoCron is Free 2 Play

Hoggedy damn, I remember this one. I played out all my Shadowrun RP fantasies there. Meetings with other runners, Johnsons, runs, underground legwork. And I remember being proud as hell of creating my first nail gun. It was crap, but it was my crap.

Xcom: sometimes they just are just destined to miss

Sadly, this not only also counts for enemy shots, it also discounts every possibility to change the shots outcome. Example: Throwing a smoke grenade doesn't change the predetermined outcome, not throwing in at your guys, not throwing it at the aliens. I must say I don't like it. For all the...

Evil Genius: Help me with my f'ed up situation

That was exactly it. Thanks, Scorched_Cascade. Capturing one of each group, then interrogating him stopped the flood of troops. Thanks, mate!

Evil Genius: Help me with my f'ed up situation

Hello there, I'm playing Evil Genius, and I'm in a spot where I do not know what to do. I'm on the first island. I just got my research going, got 2 machines running around the clock to improve my base. However, I suddenly find myself overwhelmed by the forces of justice. Approximately...

Is anyone else playing The Secret World?

I wished I would love the game. It has some very cool features that make it unique. The atmosphere is awesome, if you like the Cthulhu mythos at all. Some quests are immersive as hell. The levelling system is unique (which doesn't make it good or bad, it just takes getting used to). However...
