All the rage it just your typical internet lynch-mob looking for a thing to hate.
Also, having a bad PR team at EA doesn't help too.
As a company it's okay, it's doing what a company suppose to be doing.
If you have people to co-op with go for Dead Island. It's buggy, but fun.
If solo, probably go for Dead Rising. However, I'm not really a big fan of Dead Rising "countdown clock" mechanic. (Yes, I am aware of sandbox mode, but it's not the same)
Tell us how much you are willing to spend first. Most likely you'll only get to keep your harddrive and case.
But yeah, let us know your budget, we'll put together a spec list for you.
Normally the sweet-spot is around $700-1400. But if you wish to spend more, it's okay too.
Why would I pay $60, If I can get it for less than $60. Still the same content and same enjoyment.
Also, I have a huge backlog of games. I can't to play every games on launch date.
It's pretty straight forward putting it together.
If you don't want to bother with building it. You can just buy the parts and pay someone to do it for you. A lot of computer shops will put together for you for around $20-40.
As much I want to purchase a PS4 on day one. I think I'll wait at least 6-12 months and see how many quality games / exclusives on each consoles. I don't think I will be buying the first generation model as well.
Do you want my honest opinion? This shouldn't be an issue to begin with. You can still be friends with them, even thought you have a different consoles.
You've done your duty as a friends by telling them the pros & cons of the upcoming consoles. Whether they want to listen or not it's out...
To be honest, I was pretty happy when I heard the PS4 is going to be $399. Then I remember I'm in Australia. It's probably going to end up around $500-600 AUD. I guess I'll be getting an used PS4 then.
I don't want to come off as a bitter snarky gamers. But what make you think the developers haven't thought about what you just listed. Perhaps there are other reasons why it was not implemented.
I don't think DRM is the answer, but it's a temporary fix. In my opinion DRM is a byproduct of the current gaming climate by the action of gamers. Whether DRM will actually work or not, a company is going to protect its products anyway. Just like pirates are not going to stop pirating games...
