Poll: which is the best controller

Best: Atari 2600 Joystick. We had one stick, one button; it was simple, it worked, and we liked it! Worst: Atari Jaguar Controller. It was like playing a game using a paperback book with squishy buttons embedded in the cover.

Escape to the Movies: The Muppets

Not for nothing, Bob, but the character's name it "Walter". Yes, I know "Walt" is a shortened form of "Walter" but at no point in the film did they call him "Walt" (at least not that I can recall) and at one point he's wearing a uniform with a "Walter" name tag on it. I took my kids to see...

Watch Battlestar Galactica And Glee On Your 3DS or Wii

Not for nothing but Community isn't available via HuluPlus for streaming on consoles, handhelds, or tvs. Just computers. It's the only "Must See TV" show from Thursdays I watch and it's no end of annoying that I can't watch it via XboxLIVE on the big tv. Same goes for The Simpsons.

    Your Name as an Anagram?

I dug around for an anagram site (the OP-link was experiencing server overload) and using the generator for my first/middle/last names I was able to assemble this fun bit:

Play as Bird, Dr. J and Magic in NBA 2K12

Finally, I can relive the classic one-on-one rivalry of Dr J & Larry Bird with the updated graphics I've been longing for!

    Worst Song Cover Ever

Even with all that cowbell there was no saving this cover, unless the goal was instructing one on how to un-rock a great rock song. And was it just my ears or was Celine's sidekick sneaking in some auto-tuning?

Poll: So I just saw Cowboys and Aliens...

I love Red Dead Redemption and would gladly welcome another huge DLC add-on like Undead Nightmare. I think the problem one would run into would be the "been there, done that...but with aliens" factor. How much different could the gameplay be at this point considering what was done with Undead...

Gears Of War Goes From TV Screens To Tabletops

Based on the quality of other Fantasy Flight board games I've played (primarily the Arkham Horror series) this should look great and certainly be worth the $70. And with the option to play solo I wouldn't lament my lack of friends nearly as much as when wanting to play other board games.

    Some good DS games.

Geometry Wars: Galaxies is my all-time favorite DS game. Looks great, plays great, ties in with the Wii version (each, when linked, unlocks an additional playable galaxy) and has the pick-up-and-go arcade gaming that I dig when on the go. ...sure, lengthy stories, complex puzzles, an...

Trailers: Call of Duty: Elite - Metaphorically Speaking

Unless my ear need retuning (and at my age that's quite possible) "TheLEGENDofKarl" is the legendary comedic talent behind 2010's blockbuster "Yogi Bear": TJ "Ranger Jones" Miller! ...a buddy at work insists that with Elite he'll be able to get more accurate matchups with non-cheaters...

Nintendo 3DS Update Includes Netflix Streaming

Not for nothin' but the WiFi at Starbucks is free and has been for years (granted, it's only been about a year that we've offered it without the ridiculous hoops we once required to access it.) No hacking necessary. That said, I think the technology offered is cool but with the plethora of...

Beating Bosses or Solving Puzzles in Ways Never Intended.

Crackdown 1: After many attempts to get up his skyscraper I made it to Wang's rooftop garden/hideout. I took a couple of shots at him and his bodyguards when one of them must've tried to toss a grenade at me. He failed, instead dropping it along the ledge where they were hiding, setting off a...

Robin's Arkham City Look Inspired By Cage Fighters

So, for pre-order "exclusives" we have: Best Buy: Robin & 2 challenge maps Gamestop: 1 Joker-themed challenge map Amazon: $10 credit & a physical comic book ...I think I'll pre-order it from Amazon. I bought "Arkham Asylum" from Amazon and got the free comic then, too. With what...

No 'Him' or 'Her' in Preschool. Wait, what?

In relation to what toys kids prefer, as the father of a nearly 12-year-old daughter (and a son who's nearly 6) I can say I've been continually irritated with fast food joints (McDonald's is the primary offender here) for asking whether the Happy Meal I'd just ordered is for a boy or a girl. My...

    Poll: Alien or Aliens?

Alien. Aliens is badass but it also seemed to spin the rest of the Alien franchise into the sci-fi/action genre whereas the original was sci-fi/horror which I still think really works for it. The sole alien is scary, moreso when there's one killing off the very confined crew one-by-one...
