Good job not reading what he or I said. Or knowing anything about Munchkins.

    US 2024 Presidential Election

You've got to love the "they taxed us $1.62, so we had to raise prices $15" logic. There is no economic force other than opportunism that would cause freight, warehousing, distribution, or fulfillment charges to increase proportionately to the tariff. Also, just being picky, it doesn't cost them...

I think you can rest assured that businesses will pass on tariffs. I look forward to companies paying $1 tariff on a $10 import and raising their selling price from $100 to $110 to keep their margin percent.

I think you just underestimate how much wall got done. Not a huge fan of just doing what he wants this way, not a good precedent, at least without trying to fight for policy the intended way first. In effect, going this route flips the checks and balances. He gets to act unilaterally using the...

It's ok to be angry about capitalism

First, all of those are things capitalists do. Including labor. A capitalist is one who owns significant resources and uses them towards the end of profit, that designation does not preclude also doing any of the work. Of course you can have useless ownership, but you can also have terrible...

    Funny events in anti-woke world

Last time around, he had limited authority to build a wall, fought with Congress for a bit, and eventually declared it a national emergency to get around that fight. This time, he'd need Congress to play ball to actually enact the policy, so he declared a national emergency to skip that fight...

It's ok to be angry about capitalism

I see you are deficient in both reality and metaphor. On the contrary, labor in a vacuum is entirely worthless. No amount of effort can create something from nothing.

It's ok to be angry about capitalism

If you don't have dough, you can't make pizza. Doesn't matter how much cheese, or sauce, or toppings you have, you won't have pizza. Therefore, all profit from a sale of a pizza belongs to the dough, and anything the other ingredients take is theft. /s The labor equally does nothing without the...

It's ok to be angry about capitalism

Additionally, we get some perverse conclusions when a business fails to profit, as Seanchaidh's logic would dictate that if a business loses money, the workers are necessarily being paid more than their labor is worth.

It's ok to be angry about capitalism

Nope. You have managed to separate out that there are other factors that determine the cost side of the ledger, but are defining revenue as generated solely by labor. Revenue is all of what people pay you, and there is not just one single factor that gets credited for why.

It's ok to be angry about capitalism

No it isn't. That's just definitionally incorrect.

Nah, but they've certainly thrown batteries in the past. Ok, no, they don't, but like, not cause they wouldn't. The words are usually much more clever or potentially infinitely less clever than a death wish. One of my favorites was two years back, the Cowboys' quarterback before the Super Bowl...

    US 2024 Presidential Election

I'm from eastern Pennsylvania... I'm a Philadelphia sports fan. Going to watch public figures do their job while yelling grotesque things at them is an experience people pay money for. I promise, very few of those things have actually been done to the Dallas Cowboys.

    US 2024 Presidential Election

That they considered certifying the election an act of treason, punishable by death. The exact people who set them up are technically unknown, but online discussions from before the event show people sharing ideas for plans on putting up those gallows to "show them the stakes". Telling someone...
