    Wow, that's practically glowing!

    Virus on the Escapist

This is another case of Avast doing a bad job at updating their virus definitions. We've disabled the script that's triggering this for the time being, because it's annoying, but there was never anything bad inside it.

    Poll: Paypal sucks :C...Alternatives?

I've found Amazon Payments to be the best alternative solution to PayPal, which is why we used them for PubClub. Amazon offered the best integration options, more features, and better pricing and availability than anyone else did at the time. Plus, they already have a ton of users and a good...

Meet Yahtzee at PAX, Get Stuff

Yeah, you're missing: c) That's how much it costs just to keep The Escapist running for a month. It's not something we talk about, but it is not cheap or easy to keep a site of this size running, and producing the amount of content that we do. We get by, we don't get rich, and we don't...

    Verify age

May I suggest reading the text on the page next time it pops up. They're there because, in certain instances, we are required to put them there. If we aren't required to (for example, for the stuff we produce ourselves) we don't.

    Recommendations from the Escapist

    1) We can't - as said, it's a Facebook thing. 2) That's not a good idea? Scratch that budgeting idea off my list then.

Amazing Spider-Man Trailer Has Lots of Peter Parker, Almost No Spidey

This is why I cannot possibly take the new Spiderman seriously: I cannot look at the design of the new costume and not see a man-thong. Not to mention that the series didn't need a full reboot anyway. The first Spider-man movie from Sony was a perfect comic book origin movie. It's not...

Poll: Do adverts Make you angry?

Yeah, it's pretty likely that a FARK clone on a discount hosting service [http://www.cloudflare.com/] has twice the traffic our site does.... OK, probably not. In fact, it's more likely all the traffic that site gets wouldn't even make a blip on our stats, regardless of your perception...

    Required gaming.

I'd say that these are some older PC titles that really represent either the pinnacle of their genre, or a significant point in game development. It's slanted towards RPGs, sims, and adventure games, but mostly because those were the genres of the time. Zork Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy...

    Amazon Discounts Child Of Eden

Last week, Amazon was running a deal to get $100 credit if you bought a 360+Kinect bundle, which I took advantage of. Unfortunately, I just checked, and it looks like the deal is over. After seeing Susan playing it in the office, I picked up Child of Eden earlier today using this deal. With...

Trailers: Saints Row: The Third: Steelport

This is downright hilarious. I was probably going to pick this one up anyway, but after this demo it's a guaranteed purchase. I just hope it'll be possible for multiple people to play simultaneously with VTOLs :P

    Poll: A technical opinion, please?

I would suggest one GTX 590, for two reasons: One video card will have fewer driver/compatibility issues than two cards in SLI will. One video card leaves you the opportunity to add a second identical one as an easy future upgrade, when their price drops.

Dissent in Supreme Court Decision Means War Isn't Over

The Supreme Court can reverse their own decisions. It's pretty unlikely that this court would do so, but a future court with a different set of judges could potentially reverse the ruling. It has happened in the past, though I believe that it's usually striking down something that was previously...
