    Confederate Flags in Northern States

I live in northern Canada, and I see trucks with the confederate flag on them from time to time. As you can imagine, THAT is confusing. As to what it represents - I hear arguments a great deal, but seriously - it was the war emblem of the secessionist states. That's what it is, that's what it...

What would you ask a celebrity?

    "Where is the bathroom?"

Threat to the world... or just another country...

If they are a sort of nation organized like an ant or bee colony, I can't really see how they would even react to normal human beings, or interact with them, in any meaningful way.

    Need more music.

I've been listening to a lot of internet radio. iTunes has a listing of stations by genre. I've been listening to Fuzz and discovered a lot of metal that I would have otherwise not known about. (God Forbid, for example, are awesomesauce.) You could also go to any retail store and pick up...

Should children playing online games not use mics, even if they provide helpful teamwork?

I've actually just started to dabble in playing online with my Xbox, and hearing kid's voices was a bit off putting, but what was even crazier was listening to someone prepare dinner. That just made no sense at all.

Sega Releasing Game Gear Titles For 3DS

"Dragon Crystal" is an awesome roguelike. Granted, I already have it on my real Game Gear, but the 3ds will most likely have a battery life of more than 15 minutes, so maybe I will re-purchase it....

    Most difficult book you've read?

I'm from the southern US and couldn't understand that book. It wasn't difficult, it was nonsense. Honestly, Faulkner was a drunk and a hack writer. I think even he conceded that point.

    Zero Punctuation: Two Worlds II

I'm enjoying it so far (on the Xbox, for the record). The game itself seems not to take itself seriously at all....while it would be nice to have a more coherent plot, the side quests make it all worth it. From murdering someone's aunt so you can sell off her closet full of medicines, to...

BioWare Dev Explains Why Dragon Age II Is Easier Than Origins

It's not that DA:O was hard, per se, but it was hard-er than most role playing games these days. Once I figured out that I should spend some time setting up my tactics slots battles became less insanity inducing. I loved the DA2 demo. They took DA:O and made it better, while leaving it...

Gran Turismo 5: One of 2010's Top RPGs?

My favourite RPG of all time is Pong.

    Games with lots of plot?

Alpha Protocol. I've done three separate playthroughs, and each time some new crazy thing happened. In fact, it's the only game that ever made me re-think who the villains were after playing a second time, taking a different path, and learning what their motivations were. Pretty ridiculous...

    Your Greatest Gaming Deal?

I got the "special edition" of Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne for 3$ at a pawn shop. That was pretty sweet. And for some reason I picked up Magical Starsign for 5$ new at EB games. I knew it was an RPG, but I didn't want to drop 40$ for something I did not know much about. Luckily, it turned...

Question of the Day, November 17, 2010

I am trying to think of a game that deliberately set out to teach, which also taught a skill set as well.....maybe Math Blaster, but mathematics is an abstract thing anyway. Are there games that teach you how to fix a car or do basic home repairs? I guess "Police Quest" is a good example...
