Just to add to the suggestions for Sir Terry's works, I recommend Mort and Reaper Man. Mostly because they feature Death as a main character and I just love the guy. My other recommendations are Small Gods, The Witches trilogy and the early watch books Guards Guards! and Men at Arms.
