Here (Portugal) Scott Pilgrim was not only released months late, it was released in a total of 3 theatres nationwide. After one week, 2 of them had moved it to night slots only, by which point I gave up on actually being able to see it.
After some thought, I think I can start to articulate why the argument seemed so bizarre to me:
Saying PC is dying is like saying a newborn baby is dying. Of course it will die, but stating it as a fact as this point just feels weird. Especially since the argument "this will kill PC as we...
Sorry. Your post seemed to imply that Lord of the Rings was original so I thought you were just wondering if he had directed anything not LOTR related since then.
This also means I have no idea what your original post actually meant.
I don't disagree with you, which is why I said previously that the "(anti-)fanboys have moved on" was a reason why the hate for the game seemed to have disappeared, with the other being that people in general realising that the game wasn't actually bad.
My only point of contention was that I...
I won't disagree with you, but I would like to point out that the perceived difference in quality in plot is more that Bioshock 2 is more subtle in its approach.
Bioshock characterized its environment and characters better I won't argue that, but while Bioshock was about the world and its...
If an unreleased game that we only still have sketchy details about is a better reason than the fact Bioshock 2 is a better game than loads of people give it credit for (seriously, had the games been released in reverse order we would all be complaining how Bioshock didn't live up to Bioshock 2)...
Bioshock 2 got plenty of hate, although it seems to have died down in the months following release as the (anti-)fanboys seem to have moved on and everyone else came to realize the game was actually good.
The really sad part is I actually expected him to do it. Which isn't the same as saying that the game deserves it.
To be perfectly honest, it saddens me a bit that much of the hate for Bioshock 2 has less to do with its quality and more to do with Bioshock fans who never even gave the game a...
Technically, Notch didn't say anything about future versions not being free (he mentioned on twitter this hasn't been decided yet), the change on the terms just means that anyone that buys after the beta starts is not guaranteed to receive them for free, not that they won't.
EDIT: I see the...
Except as far as I'm aware, Hothead wasn't involved in any way on this, their Tycho wasn't voiced, and used a different model.
I'm pretty sure that the work that went into tycho was pretty much the same as if Penny Arcade never had a game before.
