Yes, well. If you don't laugh you weep, don't you?
Yeah, it's a sad state of affairs, and forecasts seem to imply it won't get any better any time soon. Still better than the new consoles tho, where non-scalped availability is just straight up zilch around here, and has been since the things released. You can get a gpu, grossly overpriced, but you can.

GTX 3080 TIs are the only graphics cards available at my micro-center due to being 2000 dollars, and overpriced AF.

My local microcenter has some 6900xts in stock, also ludicrously overpriced at $2200.

Here's a fun one; you can buy that card from an Australian retailer, at current exchange rate you'll pay just under $1700USD. Even if the shipping costs you a an extra $100 you're still $400 ahead XD

But yeah, cheapest I can get a 3080 or a 6900XT is about $2300AUD. Fun fuckin' times.

Cheapest at retail around here is a 3080 for €1300 (~2095 AUD/1525 USD). 6900XT's are more expensive, cheapest coming in at €1600 (~2580 AUD/1880 USD). 3080 Ti's are roughly the same ball part. Also for you Yanks, that's with tax included.

I managed to get a 3080 cheaper than that tho, basically at msrp, but that required calling in a favor and a little grease money. Also, it's white, has Gundam branding and gaudy rgb all over, but whatever, got that shit.

The only cards that I can usually find are 3080TIs for about £1500, or 3060TIs, for about £650. Otherwise, a handful of 710s, and 1030s.

Literally everything else is gone. Which I suppose is the norm, at this point.

With GPUs and consoles constantly out of stock, im forgetting what it felt like to just go on Amazon, find what I wanted for a normal price, and just... buy it.

The Gundam unit is a special edition of the ROG STRIX line from Asus. If it helps, even if you hadn’t gotten the Gundam white one, the gaudy RGB would still be there because that’s just ROG all over.

Yeh, I know. I could turn the RGB off, but the pc is under my desk, the windowed side panel up against it, so I don't have to see it anyway. Thing needs to run shit, not be looked at. Which it does, splendidly.

Down to about $1,600 US.

In normal times I have to think this is a $600 card.

More like $800, with the MSRP of $1000 already being ludicrously high.

EVGA is trying the revolutionary "just make a list of people that want one and sell them as they become available" tactic, though the only cards worth a damn that the queue isn't absolutely full of are the RTX 2060 and the GTX 1650

The wait time for the person at The Verge was 9 months

Dunno why more manufacturers aren't doing the "you get to sign up for one and have 20 hours to buy it when it becomes available" thing
