Someone told me, "You'd have to make a ripoff Star Wars movie except it actually holds up as a Star Wars movie. Make fun of them by surpassing them." I agree.
The Galaxy Quest treatment? There's been worse ideas. But yeah, any long running franchise will eventually end up like that.

No. Not a comedy, an adventure fantasy space movie that exceeds Star Wars. The joke would be Disney's humiliation.

Oh right. I'd second that idea, not so much to stick it to Star Wars, but if Star Wars isn't the next Star Wars, there's room for something else to be, inspired by the original films, but going off and doing something somewhat new.

Well, a few were hoping that Rebel Moon was going to try and fill that empty space. Didn't quite work.

I really don't know what people were expecting. Nothing against Snyder, but everything screamed Star Wars edgy fanfiction knock off from the early 2000s.

Besides, while the first Spaceballs movie was primarily a Star Wars parody, there are two other things to consider. First, it wasn't exclusively a Star Wars parody, as there were several one-off jokes/scenes that parodied Star Trek or Planet of the Apes, so in theory this could pivot in one of those directions. Even if it stuck to being a Star Wars parody, however, we've had two additional trilogies of Star Wars films to mine for material, not to mention the various spin-off shows and other movies, with another Star Wars movie in production, so it's not like Star Wars is some forgotten relic of the past that no one cares about anymore.

Lol, I didn't notice the perfect straight line at the bottom of the curtains in that digitally altered shot of Fight Club.

Fixed. imgbb is useless.

A body horror (I think) starring a kinda-known Batman villain.

You know, the media always portrays him as this blob of monster, and I could never figure out why not just stay in the shape of his "normal self"? I remember only seeing it once, in The Batman (2004) series. Would he not want to blend in wither other residents of Gotham?

Or is it one of those literal identity crisis-thing that every shapeshifter seems to face?

Even the merchandisers know skorts suck.

Imagine the mentality of a character designer who puts a skort on a character instead of a skirt. He thinks to himself that this way women dressed for thousands of years up well into modern society is no longer... That women can't be classically feminine because that would somehow... I don't want to go into the cliches, but objectification is the word that comes to mind. Skorts on characters, especially ones that used to wear skirts (Ashley Graham, Supergirl), really seems like a statement. A wagging of the finger, "No." People don't make enough of a deal out of it. Why the fuck would I wear a skort if I was a woman? Is the whole point not breathability and showing off a little more leg? If I didn't want guys to stare, I'd just wear shorts!

Again, nobody has a problem with athletes in leotards, and under Supergirl's skirt is just a leotard.

Imagine the mentality of being so bothered by skorts that you are continuing to complain about it weeks later.

Oh, it's AI. The program must have interpreted the exact shot I posted weeks ago. I take nothing back, though.

Okay, the fighters roll call was pretty cool. But I guess there's something wrong with the name "Noob Saibot" and they want to call ihim Bi-han instead?

Someone said to me that maybe the actress did not want to wear an uncomfortable leotard for twelve hours. Weakling! Still sure it came down from the top. The actor will usually dress how the studio needs them to dress, or another will take the role. We have heard so many stories of uncomfortable costumes, yet they tolerated it for the sake of the picture. Not that leotards have to be uncomfortable. I work for eight hours (standing on my feet) and commute for five in a long bicycle bib with jockstrap most days. It's fine.

Nobody in the conversation is fapping to this stuff. "Go watch porn" is the immature answer I see again and again.

I fixed Blaze. The creeps can just go watch porn instead. Why didn't she just wear shorts? Who knows?

My memory is hazy but I think Noob Saibot - aside from his name being MK creator Tobias Boon's name backwards - was a wraith of the first Sub--Zero who I'm pretty sure was named Bi-Han.

Most stories I'm familiar with with uncomfortable costumes was related to their bulk, awkwardness for basic bodily maintenance - I cannot imagine the inconvenience of wearing something like the Xenomorph or RoboCop costumes and being struck with the sudden urge to have a piss - and on occasion causing actual harm to the people wearing them. And its not always big complex things that do it too: Patrick Stewart's first season uniform on Star Trek TNG gave him back problems and that was just supposed to be a fuckin' tunic and trousers. And the guy who played Kosh on Babylon 5 legendarily tied his Vorlon costume to the back of his car and basically keelhauled it around the car park because it shat him off so much.

Now I personally think anyone doing a live action Supergirl should just give her a fully body suit like Superman gets and call it a day. The skirt and crop top ones are best left to comic pages or animation frames because you can ensure they do exactly what they're supposed to there. Real life is somewhat more unpredictable.

Movie costuming has to balance out making the item look good on camera, able to stand the wear and tear expected of filming, give the person wearing it the mobility they need to do what is asked and not risk their health or dignity. Now based on what I've seen I think the costume for this film covers most bases very well and if it doesn't suit you then I suggest you simply consign it to the multitude of costumes the character has had as one you don't care for. Saying "Don't mention DiscoWing" is probably a company wide meme at DC by this point.
