''Somehow....Anita returned
How!?
Dark science....cloning...secrets only the woke know''

Its both pathetic and kinda endearing how the entire far right ecosystem shoots into stress when they see Sarkesian's name pop up in the credits of a game they had no issue with before.

Well....pretending to experiance stress. In truth they likely saw dollar signs.

Right, so its the DC -> AC thing.

An inverter changes DC to AC at an efficiency usually of 90-95%, though more efficient ones exist. So could lose 5-10% of generated power to this.

Do you know how much energy is expended in the generation, transportation, conversion and storage of fossil fuels? Its over half. Fossil fuel is magnitudes less efficient.
She goes into more detail than that. Fossil fuels are still cheaper regardless if that is the case or not. Also, I'm for nuclear power so I don't know why you keep arguing against fossil fuels.

According to some corporate shills.

We spend billions subsidising fossil fuel companies, and lose over half the generated power to inherent inefficiencies. The use of such fuels then cause catastrophic damage to health and ecology, requiring us to spend billions more to mitigate the harm. It is simply not cheaper to use them by any reasonable metric.

Also, I'm for nuclear power so I don't know why you keep arguing against fossil fuels.
I'm simply rebutting the anti-renewable tripe in the video you posted.

We both agree on nuclear power. Good for us.

So the only thing the US according to reddit can do after Iran breaks the laws of physics, and does something the US can't do that easily on a 1950s-1960s super-carrier. AKA sink it, and I mean to sink it no mission kills or single survivable strikes. Is to either retreat in which case China, Russia, and Iran will start to take over Asia and it soon becomes our problem eventually or nuke Iran. No in-between.

And this is why I don't believe in the stupid I think people on a Massachusetts or even Boston phone-book can do a better job governing the US. I don't think I am qualified to serve in US government as a elected official which is why I don't bother, but these people who supposedly read history books and are history majors make me and people like me look like a philosopher king.

I may disagree with the powers that be on healthcare, education, or immigration, but I would prefer them over these Reddit idiots.

Everyone absolutely loved that game until they noticed her name in the credits and now they've gone nuclear with the review bombing. They can't actually articulate anything about the game that she ruined with her touch though, they just hate her existence.

They're posing it as a hypothetical; the situation isn't impossible - after all nothing is 'unsinkable' - but its statistically improbable to the point of being pointless as anything other than a circle-jerk thought exercise. Maybe someone on there fancies themselves the next Harry Turtledove or something.

You would have to hit a modern super-carrier like 10 times below the waterline(This may not even work) or get people inside to place demolition charges, and these things are 30+ knot moving targets. Maybe you could do it by swarming multiple types of drones, but the only countries that can maybe do that are China and the US, under conditions that are very hard to pull off. For example, if China is dumb enough to go into the open ocean, which it won't do right now against the USN in the eastern Pacific, or the US gets too close to the Chinese coastline, and lets it get swarmed, which it won't do.

In fact, it's a scenario that is pretty funny. Imagine if both sides(China and the US) have sunk most of their ships, and their supercarriers are the only things remaining, and both sides are basically above mission killed ships doing fucked all, and being pulled forward with tugboats to board each other.

Two things:

1) It was already review bombed by Chinese players weeks ago, so the lifetime review negativity is more driven by that than the recent Sarkeesian shakeup.
2) It's not about her changing the game, it's not even about her per se, it's about what crediting her means. I doubt anyone believes that she changed the game in any meaningful way with her presence.

Like, what is the significance of consulting her? Does it say they needed her help to make the game? No, we know they didn't. Does it say they care about female representation? Maybe, but caring about that doesn't require Sarkeesian, even if they thought they needed outside expertise, they could have asked someone else without that reputation. Nah, the most obvious reason to have Anita Sarkeesian as a consultant on your game is explicitly for her reputation, that is the most valuable asset she has to offer in the games space, so I would say this is precisely the outcome they created for themselves. Maybe even deliberately.

So essentially its culture war over all.

Which since most far right channels are political bloggers first and gamers last that does make sense.

You don't refute any of the things she said, you just start talking about something else and use ad-hominem attacks.

Fossil fuels are still cheaper regardless if that is the case or not.
If that were true, then we should remove all subsidies for fossil fuels and make them responsible for harm caused by their production and use, and see if that's still the case... Or are subsidies and externalizing harms/costs *why* fossil fuels are cheaper?

According to a report by the International Renewable Energy Agency, government support for fossil fuels still reigned as of 2017: they garnered 70 percent of energy subsidies that year worldwide, with only 20 percent for renewables. In the United States, though, the numbers are flipped. The Energy Information Administration says half of the federal money spent to subsidize energy from 2016 to 2022 went to renewables, while less than 15 percent went to oil, gas, and coal. And that doesn’t include tens of billions of dollars per year in clean energy tax credits from 2022’s Inflation Reduction Act.

EVs I think still have very heavy subsidies. If the consumer had to pay the real price for an EV, just about no one could afford it. Though that may have started to change very recently. There is also massive harm caused by the mining of battery materials for EVs. And cost comparisons of ICE vs EV cars are always about buying new and the problem with EVs is that you don't wanna buy used because to replace the battery is so fucking expensive. You can buy like a 10 year old Honda/Toyota that'll last another 10 years quite easily with very little maintenance.

The comment about his personal reliability is an appeal to avoid untrustworthy, propagandist sources. You make similar comments about sources' general credibility all the time.
which you proceed to ignore.

I suppose the standard question has to be asked: Why hire a consultant who has absolutely no impact on the result? The implication of paying a consultant, especially someone who generally functions as a narrative or sensitivity consultant is that the dev team is taking their input on the game to some effect. The implication is either that her fingerprints are on the game, they hired her because her name being on it would grant them some benefit in and of itself, or they are paying her for no reason whatsoever which seems like an intensely stupid idea.

As a follow up, if someone saw someone like Nick Fuentes listed as a consultant down in the credits of a game, would you consider that grounds to not purchase or even give a bad review to the game, even if you can't quite put your finger on anything specific that must have been caused explicitly by Fuentes?

There's a good chance climate change might go down in history as the most expensive cost externalisation of all time: a truly staggering cost dumped on billions of people. Let's not pretend the worst offenders could be made to pay the bill: most of them will be dead, for a start. There will be no justice, no recompense, just loss.

For much the same reason you pay a marker even when the person taking the test passes it.
