FF7R Pt3 is gonnabe released on all consoles and PC the same day. SE can't afford exclusivity anymore.
I also believe that owning a console just for the single-player exclusives really isn't worth it. I already had this song and dance w/ PS4 pro; I bought it just for the exclusives at the time, and bought several exclusives at the time (GOW 2018, Uncharted series, Horizon Zero Dawn, Bloodborne, TLOU Remastered, etc). No PS+ subscription either.

They were great, and I am blast playing them, but as soon as I had my fill, there really was no reason to go back to ps4 pro. I had it for like 3-4 years until just selling it.

And ps5 just keeps getting more expensive; If it was my only means of gaming, with more people on the platform as well to play some multiplayer games, then I probably might think it's worth it.

Hell, in unlikely case ps5 price drops back down, it might convince me. But for now, no Wolverine for me :(

I mainly got PS4 for Japanese developed games, indie games, and my PS5 for certain games to run better. I got exactly what I intended. First party was important, but I didn't go nuts with the pro. I was satisfied with what I already got, and that's why I never bothered with the Pro.

Yeah, I am not exactly sure why I got the Pro version. Honestly, I probably would have gotten just as much entertainment had I gone with the base PS4.

Oh yeah, that's another thing that I really don't want to get ps5; only recently I am seeing good amount of ps5 exclusives. I think by this time PS4 had plenty of them.

I will need to see an actual confirmation, but man this kinda sucks. I really wanted to play that Wolverine game on my PC, or any possible GOW games in the future.

Oh well, as long as FF7 remake part 3 isn't affected by this!
What games of theirs are non-exclusive that aren’t single player narrative? Might as well just say they’re going back to the old ways.

Remember Embracer? Still around, and there's news!
TLDR: Embracer to spin-off Fellowship Entertainment to its own public company (LOTR, Metro, Tomb Raider, KCD, Darksiders, Remnant, Dead Island). Basically all their AAA stuff under one roof. I expect a bunch of people are gonna get sacked.

Forza Horizon 6 is getting crazy good reviews. To the extent we can trust them anymore.

Very tempting to pick this up on Steam. Unavailable on Playstation so far and, I'm thinking, as I can play online without PS+ or Xbox game pass, this may be the only way to go.

Worrisome that a big plus is, it is harder than FH5, which, to me, isn't a selling point.

Forza Horizon 6 is a good game, I finished it this morning. The game isn't hard but unlocking the final events is super tedious because you have to almost 100% every event and stunt, which is a grind.

Gave my kid the PS4 Pro when she moved out. So, got the PS5 digital slim on sale before things went insane. On a good, large (55" or more) 4K TV, you can see the graphics look a bit better. Nothing that would drive me to make the purchase. But, like going between the OG Xbox 1 and the 1X, you get this feeling that you are experiencing a premium experience. Better looking, faster loading, smooth running. Nice interface. I'm not sorry I made the purchase.

The following is not "news," just the sentimental musings of an old gamer who wanted to share them with fellow gamers:

In anticipation of my potentially owning a PS5 sometime relatively soon, I went to the PlayStation website and recovered my old PSN account to make sure I still existed in their eyes. Fortunately, I did. But that also got me feeling nostalgic for the days of my PS3. Like the scene from every movie where a middle-aged man at a crossroads in his life retires to his garage and yanks away the tarp that's been covering the classic car he's not looked at in ages, I yanked my PS3 off the shelf.

Yeah, she needed some updates, but she still purrs. The controller won't hold a charge, but I still have the charging cable, so am able to play whilst within the 4-foot length of the cable. The background of my home screen is still my dog who was alive and well the last time I played on my PS3; she would pass 3 years after that last time. I scrolled through my friends list, and the last person I played with on my PS3 was in 2013, 13 YEARS ago! I don't have many friends on this platform, but most of them are showing last active +2 years ago. I think a lot of them are still relatively active on Xbox (the preferred platform of our friend group,) but still, booting up the PS3 and seeing a gaming life frozen in time was bittersweet.

When I first plugged it in, before I connected to my network, the date on the home screen was today: 5/20. The time was wrong, and I didn't see a year, but what are the chances I might plug my PS3 back in over a decade after the exact same day I last unplugged it? I'm sure some pedant can point to some technical/systems reasons to spoil the illusion; is there some sort of internal clock in the console? Still that it's still accurate to at least the day after 13 years away from being turned on is impressive. Or maybe it was just a romantic coincidence.

Aging has been a very humbling experience for me. After having a multi-generational big home, with a PS3 on a 75" Samsung 4K and best surround sound I've ever had, I had to concede I couldn't really take care of the place, or expect the missus to do so when its my time and had to sell. This is especially true as we are now empty nesters. I found The Last Of Us nearly unplayable on the PS3, but Batman Arkham City played just fine. My last game experience was "Dante's Inferno" and it was really spectacular.

Got to keep the PS5, Xbox 1X and Switch OLED on a 65" 4K. Gaming PC rig on 48"OLED in basement.

PS3s, OG Xbox 1, Wiis, Wii U 32 Gig, no room for 'em anymore after down-size :-(

As for your controller, so cheap on Amazon to get snazzy replacements.

These were $25

Seeing as how gaming never stopped being a huge part of my life, I regret letting my parents give my old consoles away. I wish I had been able to save them as milestones of my life. I look youtubers with huge game libraries in their backgrounds in jealousy because if i had saved my shit I would have set ups like that too.

Each generation of console grew up with me, and they mark these very tangible phases of my life that in retrospect are really easy to look back on through the lens of the games at the time.

If we wanna go WAY back, following a bitter divorce in 2008, just to get it over with and have one less thing to fight over, I gave my ex-wife everything in a storage unit we shared which had my NES, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, N64, and a loads of games for each. I wasn't thinking, and gaming was the least of my concerns at the time, but fast-forward a few years, removed from the vitriol and hatred I felt at that time, I really regret not getting my games out of there. Who knows what she did with all of it even; I KNOW she didn't play them or even have the half a brain necessary to think to SELL it all to anyone who'd have paid her what it was worth. She probably let the storage bill go delinquent, and my shit ended up getting sold on an episode of Storage Wars.

I just moved out and brought all my old console and stuff (starting PS1) and its great to have them... except they take so much space with all the games! I got a closet literally full of them and don't have the place to display any of them(along with manga and gunpla). So I kinda get parent throwing them out, maybe one day housing will get cheap enough that I can get a place big enough to display them instead of max packing them in a closet.
