Well.... Not sure if this should go in the WTF thread or here, but today I learned that ballmaxing is a thing. Injecting surgical lubricant into the scrotum to give you bigger balls.

I mean, TBF not that different to breast enhancement in overall concept, so not quite as wtf as it might first seem, but...I dunno, kinda makes you think all the hubbub about looksmaxing you see, hasn't that kinda been a thing for a portion of women for a long time anyway? I guess profiting off only 50% of the populations manufactured insecurities isn't enough. It's never enough.
You see that thing going round FB as well? Got one of those FB friends that keeps sharing the weird stuff certain types get up to?

Anyway, this seems unwise. Also, with larger breasts, I guess they can be seen when the person is wearing clothes, which generally isn't a thing with testicles.

Though, penis enlargement has been a thing for ages, though tends to be rather quack science. Random bit of trivia, apparently in ancient times, Jewish men living in Greek cities would sometimes get a cosmetic procedure for a reverse circumsicion, cutting a flap of skin partially loose from the penis and pulling it over the glans, to look like the local Greeks in public bathing areas and the like. I had to find out about this in my history degree, and so now you have to know as well.

Cox n Crendor podcast. One guy said he got his scrote to the size of a mango. Reckon you'd see that.

Also, if the experiment shown in my GCSE biology class is to get believed, women's eyeballs go straight for the package, and let's face it, if you're the kind of guy to be ballmaxing, you're going to be the kind of guy to wear tight trousers...😬

People really should stop taking knives to genitals.

What's wrong with the pair of socks in your trousers?

A couple of weeks ago, I was watching PGA Golf, and when one of the golfers drove his ball from the tee box, when most rowdy fans holler "GET IN THE HOLE!!!", I heard one lone fan exclaim "GIVE ME BACK MY SON!!!" I nearly collapsed I was laughing so hard. I tried to find the clip to show my gf, and it turns out it's seldom but not uncommon to hear this exclamation on the tour. It stems from a quote from the movie Ransom where Mel Gibson shouts those words after a pro golfer drives his ball.

Boy, I learned a LOT today...

I was curious about a piano tutorial for "Together We Will Live Forever," the theme from The Fountain written by Clint Mansell, an artist I've liked since his work on the film Pi in 1998, and then I realized I never knew what Mansell looked like. So I Googled him, landed on his Wikipedia page where I learned he's most famous for composing...

"Lux Aeterna," the iconic orchestral piece from Requiem For A Dream, a piece that has been used numerous times throughout cinema in the past 26 years.

I also learned that he was the lead singer for Pop Will Eat Itself, not a band I know anything about save for their name.

I then started pondering over his career, how he dives so competently into so many disparate genres, and it made me think of Trent Reznor, a similarly Renaissance man, and I wondered if they ever worked together...

Trent Reznor moved Mansell into an apartment in New Orleans following the disbanding of Pop Will Eat Itself, and introduced Mansell to and bought him Pro Tools, production software that would help him getting into the film scoring business.

Lastly, and this isn't so much something I've learned as it something I recognized, but "Lux Aeterna" was released in 2000, Aphex Twin's album Drukqs came out in 2001, and my favorite track from the album is "Mt Saint Michel + Saint Michaels Mount," which uses a deep synth line that is eerily similar to the strings from "Lux Aeterna;" video is timestamped.

That's enough learning for today!!

Little Women does not end with the line "And then they realized they were no longer little girls, but they were little women." In fact, the line does not appear anywhere in the book. Considering the ages of the girls range from 12-16 from their introductions they are already little women when the book begins.

"GenX Man is so much better than you because he doesn't need you and he treats you as badly as you deserve."

As a GenXer myself, I have just this to say to him: Shut the fuck up.
What you should be saying is "pffft, yeah, whatever man". Hand in your GenX card right now. Or don't. I don't care.

Recently I've been browsing through professor Jan Rosenow of Oxford's blusky account. Solar power is currently being deployed in mass scale. For instance: in Pakistan, solar has overtaken coal as the largest single source of electricity.

He also revealed that the worst heat pump is more efficient than the best gas boiler.

On his substack he revealed that in Europe, the more of the electricity that comes from gas, the higher wholesale price .

Shout out to @Phoenixmgs since he showcased an interest in electricity and solar in another thread.

Today I learned what's the bug with the longest lifespan: termite queens. They lay 30,000 eggs a day and live up to 50 years.

N° 2 are ant queens which live up to around 30.

Today I learned that actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, best known [to me] as Simon Adebisi from HBO's horrific prison drama series Oz, is British. I'm not a xenophobe, but learning everyone in "Hollywood" is British is bringing out my inner MAGA (<--hyperbole, there's not an ounce of MAGA in me.) Trump would have us believe the southern border is the problem with all the "illegals" taking the "high-demand" jobs in the service industry, construction, and landscaping while literal million dollar jobs in Hollywood are being taken by people from the UK.

Seriously, there's no animosity in me at all, just really shocked to learn that one of the most iconic and terrifying characters from American '90s drama is a proper British bloke IRL. (Yes,, technically, Adebisi is Nigerian, but they still hired a Brit to play a Nigerian in an American drama; how far removed from "an American down the street" did they have to get? Lol!)

If you said "That wombat shit bricks", it might not be metaphorical, because wombats have square-shaped poops.
