Well that was a cheerful turn.
I can't help but think Rad is about to do something not entirely noble, Rad wouldn't do something that wasn't entirely noble and upstanding right?

So... Erin's technically asleep... yet the person heard Rad...
So is Erin imagining herself asleep and is really talking for Rad, or dare I dream of a world where Rad wasn't lying when he said they ARE real? The latter is more awesome, since I'd want a world where Rad and Gunny are real.
Either way, I came into this comic for the funnies, so it's pretty jarring to be reminded about the fact that Erin has loved ones on the other side of that door. Feel the feels.

The answer is that Erin quite obviously has super powers which allow her subconscious to project and manifest videogame characters into reality. The pills are meant to suppress this portion of her brain to prevent her from conjuring up something that could easily destroy the world.Frank Ocampo Gomez said:

Note that the person behind the door said "Your voice sounds weird", and not "YOU'RE NOT ERIN!!". Because it *was* Erin herself speaking, but she was putting on a 'Rad-sounding' voice.
