Pre-order Dr. Horrible's DVD or Face Freeze Ray

Fans of the newest Neil Patrick Harris sensation Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog can order a hard copy of Joss Whedon's musically-fueled diary of evil.

Directed and written by Buffy creator Joss Whedon and starring The Guild's Felicia Day [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/87680-Gaming-Dating-Tips-from-The-Guilds-Felicia-Day] alongside Neil Patrick Harris, the DVD's features are meant to be as entertaining as the show itself. Packed-in are a making-of featurette, Evil League of Evil (ELE) applications and musical commentary. Indeed, the cast and writers rounded themselves up to sing the show's notes, an extra that includes more musical numbers than the original Sing-Along Blog.

Whedon explained, "Is it worth fifteen hard-earned dollars? Absolutely. In fact, I can say without reservation that the Dr. Horrible DVD is worth $15.23 EASILY. More, if your dollars weren't the hard-earned kind, just the kind you have lying around in your mom's purse. God knows WE'VE worked hard to earn 'em. 'Commentary! The Musical' is the most painstaking and exhausting piece of whimsey I have ever mistaken for a good idea. It has nearly twice as much music as Dr. Horrible itself - since you can't really talk that much during a commentary musical or it sounds like a regular commentary."

Pre-orders may be placed with Amazon [http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001M5UDGS?ie=UTF8&tag=tubefnews08-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B001M5UDGS] for a discounted $13.49 or viewers may wait until December 19 to pay the full $14.99 price. Hurry to grab the lower price so you may add a few more dollars to the $2 million the show has already grossed from iTune sales and web distribution.

Yay! It's about time. (Though wait, does that mean it's a US-local release only? That'd suck.)

And why is it that I hear about this here first? I'm on the DH mailing list, after all.... (sigh)

Edit: apparently it's being released region-free, so that's even better. Though oddly it's also a burn-on-demand, so it's not even a pressed disc. That's a few points off.
