Hitman: Absolution Shows Off the "Tools of the Trade"

Agent 47 says, "There's more than one way to murder a dude."

Every professional assassin will tell you that the best weapon is the one you can reach. And it appears that in the upcoming Hitman: Absolution, there will be plenty within your grasp: bottles, wrenches, screwdrivers, bricks, crowbars, golf clubs, Buicks and all sorts of other goodies that, in the right hands, can very quickly and effectively ruin someone's day.

If preparation (or mass murder) is more your bag, a veritable cornucopia of more conventional weapons will also be on the table. You can go in like a grapefruit and out like a beach ball with assault shotguns, master the art of distance with high-powered sniper rifles, put up walls of lead with submachine guns or opt for the quiet precision of a single, silenced pistol. And if all else fails, just blow things up.

One YouTube commenter noted that "A real Hitman makes everything look like an accident," and that may be true - but I think that maniacs have more fun. Hitman: Absolution [http://www.amazon.com/Hitman-Absolution-Xbox-360/dp/B002I0K50U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1347893816&sr=8-1&keywords=Hitman+Absolution] comes out on November 20 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

Hmm. Having completed the previous 4 games without firing a shot (or as close as can be as I think a mission or two requires it) that is a lot of weapons I'll not be using, if they end up convincing me they're actually making a proper Hitman puzzle game and not a damn action game.

Any one else thinks that the silenced pistol sounds really bad, really bad...

In anticipation for Hitman: Absolution I recently bought and installed Hitman 2: Silent Assassin and Hitman: Contracts and I've forgotten how damn hard they are. Maybe it's just because I'm so use to being babied by newer games, but man... there's something pretty aggravating about getting shot because I walked too close to a guard, despite the fact that I'm disguised. Hitman: Blood Money was a pretty good balance so I'm hoping Hitman: Absolution tightens up some of the problems its predecessors had, but still stays true to the Hitman-mentality. The return of David Bateson as the voice of 47 was a welcome surprise, so I'm really hoping this game works out.

Watch the chinatown gameplay video, i'm pretty sure you'll rarely have to use weapons.

OT: This'll be fun for a psychopathic maniac run. I did that on blood money, hedge-trimmers are a great budget weapon.

I expected an Absolution trailer to have lot more leather and tits, but this had practically Nun.
Your pun is bad and you should feel bad.

Though I have to admit that my expectations were somewhere alongside yours.

Looks like someone hasn't even watched the latest gameplay trailers where they essentially prove that this is not the case. Go ahead, look them up.

the replay value for me in those games was, the frustration of continually failing with being stealth until I went on a murderess killing spree to get to the next level. Then coming back to it a year later saying "okay I got this shit"

You're quite right. I don't generally scour the internet for every bloody scrap of information. I did watch one where he killed some redneck mechanic and didn't really like that one.

And I'm not sure but 1:38. Is that a H&K UMP 45? Cuz yeah MP5 is always badass but this might be my main stay.
