Borderlands 2 Rolls Out the Launch Trailer

It's just about time for Borderlands 2, and you know what that means.

There's not much to say about Borderlands 2 at this point that hasn't already been said at least twice, but in case you somehow missed it, it's basically you and a few friends against an entire planet of lunatics, psychos and kooks, none of whom are too overly inclined to keep their violent impulses in check. Think The Wild Bunch [http://www.amazon.com/The-Wild-Bunch-Original-Directors/dp/B000BT96CS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1347899540&sr=8-1&keywords=the+wild+bunch] in space (presumably with a slightly-more-upbeat ending) and you'll have a pretty good idea of what it's all about.

The cameo by the cast of the original Borderlands [http://www.amazon.com/Borderlands-Game-Year-Xbox-360/dp/B0041OWQUI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1347899387&sr=8-3&keywords=borderlands] is fun and Handsome Jack's insistence that he's hero and you're just a trouble-causing no-goodnik is interesting, but for the most part, what you see is what you get: violent mayhem on an epic scale. This ain't Shakespeare, kids; to paraphrase the great Samuel L. Jackson's commentary on Snakes on a Plane, "You either want to play this, or you don't."

I'd like to get this game, sadly I can't afford it at the moment. I'd get it later, but by then everyone would have moved on anyway, and the ones that still play will have done everything and probably wouldn't care for someone like me who wants to take it slow and explore everything.

I still play BL1 from time to time, and considering I've beaten it about eight times so far, that's actually saying something from me. The only other shooters I've dropped time into like this are Tribes and TF2.

I am so ready for this game. Tomorrow night my brother and I are going to be playing non stop. I've been playing the first Borderlands just to get my shoot and loot fix. Tomorrow can't get here fast enough.

I wish that I had more time to play it though. Maybe I can skip psychology and tell my Professor that I was studying the effects that violent video games have on college students. And the effects of skipping class.

I booked off the next week from work because I was meant to be going away on holiday.

That fell through, and then I realised that Borderlands 2 is out this week. A week of lie-ins, bad food (I am normally pretty healthy) and this game will be a nice way of getting over the disappointment.
