The face of the right guy on the last panel was just awesome. Now I will think about this any time I kill someone with a rat swarm.

Okay, I literally laughed out loud reading this one. Which I think is a new benchmark for most any webcomic. Finding something funny, isn't uncommon, but literally laughing is.

Hmmm. Well, I might have to pick this game up, now.

Personally I think Dishonored and Darksiders 2 share the award for 'Best Original IP Using Unoriginal Gameplay'. Both I think will also sadly get passed by most mainstream gamers, almost guaranteeing we won't see a sequel. Which is a goddamn shame, because both are absolutely brilliant.

"Open, fun, lacking in structure".

That is why Dishonored fails as a stealth game. It feels much too loose, like you can complete the level by just sneaking through the shadows. And if someone sees you? Not to worry, just stab them. I know people don't want to see a "game over" screen anymore, but there needs to be some incentive to do things properly. The levels could have been randomly generated for all I know. Give me Splinter Cell or Thief over Dishonored, at least those games had consequences.

I like to think someone on the dev team thought of this joke when they added that move. The brilliant things is often the most obvious in retrospect :)

I don't have the ability yet, but I believe there's one power that lets you possess and become a rat. So, in one sense, everything IS the rat's fault.

I remember thinking something similar the first time I heard a guard in Dishonored dismiss my fumblings as "just a rat".

If there's any setting where blaming random noises on suspiciously rats is justified, it would be this one.

But, it's a stealth game!
You've got to finish the game without ever killing anyone and without ever being seen even once!

For once in a stealth game, it actually -is- a rat...

...and for that, you should be very, VERY scared.

The look on that guard's face in the final panel has been pretty much my first reason to smile today. Thank you for that.:)

The whole Rat Plague mechanic is one of the stronger point of Dishonored, one of those cool little things that just seem to add to the game. I especially like how rat swarms can appear spontaneously. For instance, in one of the early levels I found a guard stomping some rats. A fair number of them, but not enough for a swarm. I bypassed him and opened a nearby door to a ruined building. Out came a bunch of rats, not enough for a swarm, but again a fair number. Then they went to join their brethren. Then suddenly the guard was dieing and screaming, which drew all the nearby guards. This in turn allowed me to bypass several patrols that would otherwise have been a pain in the arse.
