Assassin's Creed 3 Weapons Trailer Shows Off Connor's Toys

The British have good intelligence on this new Assassin; pity they're his target.

Unnamed British Officer seems a little perturbed about the Assassin's arsenal in Assassin's Creed 3 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/ginx/6089-Assassins-Creed-3-Preview], but at least he knows what he's talking about. Ubisoft's latest weapons video shows off all the ways you can expect to stab up, shoot up, or otherwise deadify the King's soldiers, in Ubisoft's latest entry to the Assassin's Creed franchise.

Connor has weapons of choice [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCDIYvFmgW8], but - as the narrator points out - he's not shy about using multiple combinations, or mixing things up a bit with a honking great ax. Many of these moves will look at least a little familiar to veterans of the franchise, but polishing a mechanic till it's as sharp as a tomahawk is no bad thing.

Assassin's Creed 3 is due October 30th for Xbox 360 and PS3, later in November for PC.

Every single damn trailer I see of this game, all I can think of is 'Merica, fuck yeah.

Call me pedantic but didn't Ubisoft announce very proudly that in Assassin's Creed 3 Connor would be pretty much neutral in terms of red coats versus blue coats?

Don't get me wrong, the game looks like fun, and I probably will still buy it, but Ubisoft's marketing is failing me big time right now.

I disagree. I personally haven't played any of the AC games and really wasn't interested until I watched that trailer, but it looked cool enough that I'd now consider buying the game. So that's an effective advertisement.

Well, that was suitably gory. I'm glad that they took out the bombs and are making close combat more dangerous; Revelations was just too easy with such an arsenal.

Also, is it just me or was that the worst motivational speech ever? "There is a trained killer out there, one with a multitude of deadly weapons and an utter lack of fear. He has killed dozens of your compatriots, often without them knowing he was even there. Now, go find and kill him, or I will kill you!"

But is that because of the emphasis on America kicking Great Britain's ass? I'm with Cardinal Piggles; the game looks good, but for something that has loudly and repeatedly promised to show a balanced account of the American Revolution, it seems to mostly consist of killing citizen-butchering redcoats while a bald eagle cries tears of pure liberty.

No... because in AC2 you killed other Italians...

Yes, yes you are. I had never seen that til now, and that is the fault of Ubisoft's marketing. Also, even though I've seen him FINALLY kill some non-british, you can't say that there has been even coverage.
Although seeing that trailer and the George Washington DLC has made me have hope, that is an alternative timeline :-/
I hope there is still some actually canon Templar Patriots.

And every single thread I come into I see something like this >_>

For butts sake, of course the ads are going to have more dead red coats, it's the US ad. If you look at the European ones, there are more than enough dead blue coats! JEEZLOUIS man.

Holy shit, stop showing these videos. It's just annoying at this point, every Thursday or Friday they throw at least one at us. I find the steady stream of video quite annoying. It may have to do with me not having a big interest in the game, c'mon.

I would agree but they have been releasing at least one trailer a week. There marketing department is in overdrive mode. They need to stop spamming the internet so damn much.
