First Resident Evil 6 Expansion Infects Xbox 360 in December

Capcom's latest zombie opera gets its first injection of new content this month.

Xbox 360 owners will get the first taste of paid multiplayer Resident Evil 6 DLC on December 18, while the Ada Wong campaign and new "No Hope Left" difficulty level will launch one day earlier for both Xbox 360 and PS3. Three new multiplayer modes will be offered, including Predator, Survivor, and Onslaught, for 320 MS points each, or bundled together for 720 points.

In Predator mode, teams of players will take on a single player-controlled Ustanak - a large bio weapon that is difficult to kill. Victory depends on players being able to best the beast within a set time limit. Survivors mode is a team deathmatch scenario where downed players return as enemies and hunt down the remaining survivors. And Onslaught tasks a pair of players with taking down ever-increasing waves of zombies and other nasty enemies, much like Horde mode from Gears of War.

Both Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers will be able to get their mitts on the anticipated patch which adds Ada Wong's story, the new difficulty option, and the new camera angle - that pulls back the view to offer a greater glimpse of your surroundings - on December 17. No date has been given for when the new multiplayer modes will land on PS3.

I would probably be more interested in these if it supported an active playerbase, but I'm doubting that.

Too bad, 'cause I still really like the game.

The title "First Resident Evil 6 Expansion Infects Xbox 360 in December" made me think that the DLC would brick the system or something. Remember how Capcom screwed up the digital release of this game for the PS3 lol

"Sales have been disapointing." a Capcom spokesman will say in a few months time, possibly followed by subtly sliding his resume over the desk and giving a pleading look to the interviewer.

Captcha: Circle of Life... ..you have an odd sense of humour Solve Media.

Onslaught most definitely is not like Horde mode from Gears of War.

Which is unfortunate. Because a basic horde mode is exactly what I'd like. This time limit is a HUGE buzzkill.

Wow... I don't see this doing anything of value for anyone. I tried hard to like that game. I defended it up until I played through a third campaign and was just blown away by how bad it all was. Instead of getting more comfortable with the play system, each successive playthrough resulted in more and more frustration. I was the most disappointed with the Jake's campaign. They totally messed up his gimmick hand to hand fighting by making you select it as if you were selecting a gun. I have unlocked the Ada Wong campaign, but I have no energy at all to play through it.

I can only imagine how frustrating the play mechanics are going to be for MP. This is an instant pass.
