Best Buy Adds Nintendo Land to Wii U Basic for Free

Still need a Wii U to make your holidays complete? Best Buy will throw in a game for free

By now you know that there are two versions of the Wii U available in stores: An 8GB basic unit for $299 and a premium set for $349 which includes added goodies like a charging cradle for the gamepad, a 32GB storage drive, and the Nintendo Land game.

But if the extra $50 was a deal-breaker for you, and all you really want to play is Nintendo Land, Best Buy fine folks at SideQuesting [http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Nintendo+Wii+U+Console+Basic+Set+and+Free+Nintendo+Land+Game/9999196000050006.p?id=pcmprd195200050006&skuId=9999196000050006] discovered that the retailer is offering the 8GB basic Wii U bundled with Nintendo Land for the same $299 as the basic set costs on its own.

Of course, the system itself will still have just a measly 8GB of storage, so while the prospect of a free game might be quite appealing, be sure to consider all the details before pulling the trigger. The deal will only be available until December 29, so you better move fast if you're hoping to snag one.

Bought a 32 gig flash drive to go with my Black Wii U. Only about 8 bucks. Yay for cheaper and cheaper ways of hard drive space. Lets see..if you bought the white, bought a 32 gig flash drive like i did...thats about over 40 bucks in savings. Good deal there.

Wait, Best Buy installing something to a piece of hardware for... free?

The same people who updated Xbox 360's with software easily downloaded for free and charged extra for it?

Huh... if it wasn't already after the 21st I'd be scared.

"measly 8GB of storage," versus the measly 32GB of storage the premium comes with?
