The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct Creeps Onto Wii U

The first-person Walking Dead adventure is headed to a new platform.

If you haven't been burnt out on zombie-slaying while playing ZombiU or Telltale's Walking Dead episodic adventure, you might be looking forward to Terminal Reality's first-person take on The Walking Dead storyline. Well, it seems that The Walking Dead: Survival Instict has infected a new console, as it will be coming out for not only the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, but also Nintendo's new Wii U.

Survival Instinct made headlines last week when a fan-made trailer hit the web [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/121295-Terminal-Reality-Reveals-Walking-Dead-FPS-Footage]. The immediate reaction to the teaser wasn't pleasant, as the game appeared rough to say the least. Terminal Reality eventually confirmed that the trailer was unofficial, and it used old footage of the game from early in its development.

The title doesn't have an official U.S. release date, but Digital Spy has learned that the game is scheduled to debut on March 29, 2013 in Europe. We imagine the stateside release won't shamble too far from its European counterpart, but for now we'll just have to wait and see.

I might buy, seeing as how I heard the Point-And-Click games were fun. I dunno though. We'll see.

A large part of what made the Telltale game so successful was that it wasn't an action game. Much like the show and the comic, it focused on character, consequences, and drama. Turn it into a FPS and all you get is a second rate Left 4 Dead knock-off with slow (read: easy to avoid) zombies. I'm just not really sure what angle they're trying to play with this thing other than maybe to get some quick money from an established franchise.

P.S. Thanks

No, that's about it.That's the only reason they're making this. I think this is gonna be the next Medal of Honour Doorfighter: A stupid publisher trying to make some quick cash from a popular sensation and hyping it up as the next industry changer when in reality it's a mediocre at best knockoff.

Having just finsihed TWD episodical... "fun" is about as far from describing this game as you can get. An amazing emotional rollercoaster that left me speechless and sad... with a little bittersweet smile at most. Yes. my GOTY 2012. For sure. The hardest hitting piece of "emotional entertainment" being game/movie/book/tv i've ever had the opportunity to experience; quite fucking possibly. But fun. No.. i certainly wouldn't say that adventure was fun.

OT: Quick cash grab, maybe. Depends when it was licensed. You would likely call the Game of Thrones game a cash grab, but that was licensed way earlier and put into development before the success explosion of the TV series. So this may be the same, it's hard to say.

Will it be generic and bland.. probably, but hold off criticism until some actual gameplay and/or reviews come out imo.

If I'm not mistaken, this game is licensed from AMC and not directly from Kirkman the creator of the comics, so it probably is an echo of the success of the TV show.

I'm more or less expecting it to be as you say. But on the other hand, I really do hope this comes through and ends up being an incredibly good game. There are not many zombie FPSs, and Left 4 Dead is really the only somewhat decent one (Although to me, it still fails to be really good since the zombies run (Which I fucking hate), and it's almost entirely multiplayer focused). Dead Island was close, but failed to be considered a good game by having a really shit story and next to no characters (A mad rage, especially after that one trailer), and the level scaling zombies. I hated having a massive sword and taking a number of hits to kill a shuffling zombie.

IF that's the case, then yeah quick cash grab more than likely lol
