Watch Pokémon for Free on Your Apple or Android Device

No longer will you sit on a train, staring at your phone thinking "I wish I could watch Pokémon on this."

Pokémon TV is a new app available free on Apple's Play Store [https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pokemon-tv/id594261405?ls=1&mt=8]. The app is pretty self explanatory, allowing users to stream episodes of The Pokémon Company's insanely popular bug collecting anime to a number of mobile devices. The video suggests that it is compatible with both phones and tablets.

50 episodes of the show will be available to watch on the Pokémon TV app, with fresh episodes rotating in on a weekly basis. The episodes will be picked from across all 15 seasons of the Pokémon anime. The app will also be host to "special events" from The Pokémon Company, who have promised "trailers, movies and more!" Pokémon the Movie: Kyurem vs. The Sword of Justice will be available February 15 - 18, and the animated short feature, Meloetta's Moonlight Serenade, will also be available for viewing starting February 15, showing in English for the first time.

Standard data charges apply for users streaming content through the app, but the content itself is provided 100% free of charge, without having to create an account or sign up for anything. It will be interesting to see how, if at all, this app will interact with the upcoming Pokémon X and Y [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/121400-Pok-mon-X-and-Y-Add-a-Z-Axis]. Previously, special event Pokémon were distributed to players over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection or by personally visiting Nintendo sponsored events. Could this app see special download codes for event Pokémon?

So I can watch pokemon without any bill to worry about other than my Internet bill? This seems too good to be true

I stopped watching when Misty left. Caught a few random episodes from time to time on Cartoon Network after that but it was never the same. I want to catch up on it all one day and maybe now's as good a time as ever since this app could keep me up to date indefinitely.

And hell, it's free so why the hell not?

I just got home after having a 4 hour intensive class with a giant headache caused by a muscle spasm in my back. I get home to news of System Shock 2 on GOG and Pokemon on my iPad. Yeah, this makes me happy.

50 episodes from across 15 seasons? In other words, you can't watch in order, even though this show is rather serial and not really worth watching out of order. Well done, The Pokémon Company.

P.S. Thanks
