Ten More Games Get the Green Light on Steam

Ten more games have made it through the Steam Greenlight gauntlet, including a few you may have heard of.

I like to think of Steam Greenlight as rather like the Temple of Trials from Fallout 2. All the radscorpions are named Gabe, but more to the point, lots of games go in but only a few make it to the end. It's a vicious gauntlet, irritating, frustrating and desperately out of balance, but if you want to play you have to power through it. And today, ten more games have emerged into the light on the other side. Behold your new champions!

Anodyne [http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=92921739] - The action adventure game that made a big splash on The Pirate Bay!
Distance [http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=103111305] - A spiritual successor to the indie racer Nitronic Rush!
Evoland [http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=122301377] - Action-adventure inspired by Zelda and Final Fantasy!
Huntsman: The Orphanage [http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=92956803] - The next step in Slender horror!
Kingdom Rush [http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=96030044] - Defend your kingdom against hordes of fantasy monsters!
Legends of Dawn [http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=115315981] - A 3D open-world fantasy RPG!
Organ Trail: Director's Cut [http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=91564412] - Head west to escape a zombie holocaust!
Receiver [http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=92927535] - An FPS with realistic gun mechanics!
Surgeon Simulator 2013 [http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=123715746] - The evolution of funny bone removal!
War Thunder [http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=115947344&searchtext=] - MMO vehicular combat in The Big One!

Most of these games look very impressive, although it's Huntsman that really has my attention at this early point, primarily because I'm an idiot who can't stop inflicting horrific digital nightmares upon himself. War Thunder is aiming awfully high for an indie but I'll be all over it if the team can pull it off - I still have fond memories of my Air Warrior days - and I'll keep an eye on Legends of Dawn simply because I'm a sucker for eastern European RPGs.

As always, these games will be released independently as they become available, and if any of them really turn your crank there's an option to follow their progress as they develop. In the meantime, there are still plenty of other games to vote on at Steam Greenlight [http://steamcommunity.com/greenlight/].

No surprise kingdom rush made it. The day I discovered it on armor games on my day off was the day I played it 10 hours including 3 trying to perfect the bonus map.

Kingdom Rush? Seriously, they got a Greenlight campaign?

Wow, I was addicted to that game on Kongregate. Congrats to them.

Oh god, another Slenderman type of game where its so fucking rushed trying to get the attention of being the next Slenderman type of game.

Slender sucked and these ones arent trying hard enough at making horror games worth anyones time. Jump scares arent scary.

Am I the only one who stopped playing Anodyne after dying twenty times on that damn diagonal pit jump in the circus-ish dungeon?

I wish they would greenlight second [http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=113281105] are freeware and worth everybody's time) and deserves both the immediate boost in interest and possible inclusion in a Humble Bundle. Most of the games on this list do nothing to sell me on their concept.

Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I played the first two games a couple years ago and loved them. I'll definitely be giving it the thumbs up when I get home from work.

Why Surgeon Simulator? It's free already, and is about as bare-bones as it gets.

That didn't need to be on Steam. It barely needed to be a download.
