Ubisoft Draws Down Call of Juarez: Gunslinger Reveal

The Call of Juarez: Gunslinger reveal trailer has made its choice. Now it's your turn.

John Wesley Hardin. Billy the Kid. Jesse James. At some point during your journey through the legendary Wild West in Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, you will presumably have the opportunity to put bullets in them all. Or maybe you'll help them put bullets into other people. It's not really clear in this reveal trailer, but what is clear is that a lot of dudes will eat a lot of lead when you ride into town. Because when justice comes from the barrel of a gun, only barrels will have justice. Or bullets. Justicebullets.

Gunslinger will return Call of Juarez to its Wild West roots after the series took a hard left turn into Disasterville with Call of Juarez: The Cartel, which came out in 2011 to nearly universal negative [http://www.metacritic.com/search/all/call+of+juarez%3A+the+cartel/results] reviews. I'm glad to see it; the idea of Cartel wasn't inherently bad, but who wouldn't rather be the Stranger, meting out the hot lead of justice to the worst kind of deserving scumbags? Austrian assault rifles are nice, but sometimes what you really want is a nice, fat, America-made hog-leg.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is slated to come out later this year for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

Yes! Love the wild west genre and I really enjoyed Bound in Blood, can't wait for this one.

A large caliber six-shot revolver. Apparently people think they look like hog legs.

As for the game. Meh. I'll probably pick it up eventually, but probably not the month it comes out. Or possibly even the year.

I liked the first two. Didn't play the Cartel as it didn't appeal as much (and was apparently shite). Honestly, I think the "Western" is a good setting for a game, and somewhat underused.

Looks like some over the top violent goofball fun, just like a lot of Spaghetti Westerns. Color me interested at least.

Also: Yay, we are out of modern day era! Now they won't be stupid, inaccurate racist fuckheads!

Am I the only one who finds it messed up that it isn't the other way around?

I'll buy this for PC. Despite UPlay and The rest of Ubisoft's derpiness. You hear this Rockstar? Old West games sell on PC!

No I'm still not over RDR being pulled from PC.

..or I can just play RDR because I've been meaning to get back to it.

I guess this town just isn't big enough for 2 games with old west setting.

However it turns out, it can't be worse than that cartel game. It just can't, I still have nightmares from it.
