"Sint" is a Dutch entity that has it's own gift giving holiday on the 5th.
He is not Santa, although I have heard theories (and then people pissing on those) that he inspired Santa.

Anyway, we went to see it in theaters in december 2011 (here in NL) and were either mildly amused or despised it.
All in all not a movie I'd recommend. Unless you're stoned, I guess.
