Holy... He does actually play some kind of REAL instrument, right? If not then I'm gonna be really annoyed for reasons I don't fully understand.
Yeah I hate that stuff so much, like get some real talent!

Although its not as bad as the people who play Halo but never actually fight off a coalition of alien invaders single handedly, and the people who play Call of Duty 4 but have never been involved in real counter-terrorism operations, they both really shit me.
Fun fact: Taking up the an instrument can't get you killed, whereas going to war can.
Jim Grim, meet Kurt Cobain.

Sardonic one liners aside, why should he have to? Playing an instrument and playing guitar hero are two entirely different things.

Should all fans of Gran Turismo go and become professional racers? What about Tekken players, why don't they enter martial arts tournaments?

We play games often because they aren't exactly like the real thing, and are instead a bit of fun. Guitar Hero is one such game. No its not the real instrument, and anyone who is under the illusion that they are as skilled as a real guitarist is dreaming, but it is still fun and enjoyable.

I'll try and word this correctly although I'm not the worlds greates vocalist.
I think that someone who is willing to put so much effort into playing the Guitar Hero could put the same sort of effort into playing the guitar and SAVE MUSIC FOREVER. I just think it's a shame that my favourite instrument seems to be falling into an endless cycle of simple chord patterns and twattery while people are getting world records on games based on it.

If music truly needs to be SAVED FOREVER, it's not going to happen because of a videogame. Besides, the music industry is blowing its own brains out now as we speak...
