Ring in the New Year with The Zangief Chronicles

In case your day didn't have its mandated dosage of an overweight man with a fake Russian accent in very short briefs, The Zangief Chronicles [http://www.zangiefchronicles.com/Z/] has dedicated its New Year's episode to the folks who started it all at Capcom.

With Street Fighter IV just around the corner, it seems that more than a few gamers are looking back on their younger, halcyon days with the timeless Street Fighter II and remembering just how completely awesome it was. Hence, things like The Zangief Chronicles, in which viewers watch the trials and tribulations of the great Russian bear-wrestler as he tackles the one foe he can't crush between his massive hands: everyday life.

The Russian accent is hilariously fake and I'm pretty sure Zangief was a bit more muscular, but the production value is actually pretty high and the writing is smart - all in all, it's definitely worth a chuckle or two.

The staff at The Zangief Chronicles dedicated "Zangief vs. New Years" to Capcom, since the entire project is, to quote the site, "a tribute" to the company that started the whole thing in the first place. For them, it's a labor of love. For us, it's a lesson in hilarity.

Now hurry up, SF4, and give these guys some new material.
