Saints Row IV Season Pass Includes Anal Probe Weapon

Get the weapon that caused Saints Row IV to be refused classification in Australia [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/125362-Update-Saints-Row-IV-Refused-Classification-in-Australia].

Season Passes, which allow gamers to pre-purchase all of a game's future DLC packs at a discounted rate, seem to be fast becoming the norm these days, and Saints Row IV is no exception. The Saints Row IV Season Pass contains the previously detailed Enter The Dominatrix [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/126179-First-Saints-Row-IV-DLC-Detailed-And-Dated] mission pack, as well as a second, unnamed pack.

If you pre-order the pass, you will also receive the "Rectifier" as a bonus: an alien anal probe weapon that lets you launch enemies and NPCs across the horizon. This is the weapon that reportedly caused the game to be refused classification in Australia [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/125362-Update-Saints-Row-IV-Refused-Classification-in-Australia]. The game has since been resubmitted to the Australian classification board, but we can assume that Australians probably won't be able to get their hands on bonus weapon.

The Season Pass will set you back $9.99, while the price of all its included content, if purchased separately, will be over $15, so you should save about five bucks.

Enter the Dominatrix, which shares the same name as the cancelled Saints Row III expansion pack [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/118010-Enter-the-Dominatrix-Pulls-Out-of-Saints-Row-The-Third], features a bizarre meta-narrative, where in a behind-the-scenes style narration, various characters explain why the content in the DLC was cut from the main game.

Saints Row IV will be released on August 20, on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Enter the Dominatrix was previously scheduled to release 45 days after the game's launch, but this latest official announcement claims it "will be released some time after release (when it's done!)," and the second mission pack will be released in late 2013.

So we save approximately $5, but at the same time we might be losing $10 if the DLC is shitty. And I bet it will be shitty. Season passes need to go away. Don't fall for that shit, please.

The season passes usually stay the same price even if DLCs have already been released. What's wrong with providing your customers with a discount if they want to buy all the DLCs at once? If you don't want to buy the season pass, the don't. How is giving people more choice a bad thing?

So the weapon that happened to get Saints Row banned just happens to be available at an extra cost. See, this is why I give up on Saints Row, it's just a DLC machine ever since the third one. It's not even out and we're getting told about the expansions and additional fee's.

If I ever buy it, it'll be at a heavy discount with the DLC already included. Since that's the only way I could feel like I actually got my moneys worth.

I wonder if the weapon was in the DLC to begin with or if they moved it to the DLC to make getting classified easier... because if it was DLC all along what the fuck classification board?

What the actual fuck! I can't even think straight right now, the censorship board are a joke. Have something offensive in a DLC, an optional thing that doesn't come with the game and they outright ban the full game. I don't think I've been this pissed off before!

It is wrong to take money away from your costumers, make money on interest and give them nothing in return. the transaction of money should occur at the moment you buy DLC and not before. Noone should buy seasonal pass as seasonal pass should not be a legal way of dealing business.

so..paying for something, to get a product that isn't even out yet, should be illegal? Well Sir/Mad'am..do not try this new fangled thing called...preordering.
In essence, that is all a Season Pass is. This one even comes with a additional bonus..so, either ignore it, or get it like odds are a lot of 'ragers' will.

I actually thought it got refused classification because of drugs. It seems that the classifications board is pretty hardline on that sort of thing in games. As it is I can't get State Of Decay because it (supposedly) has morphine and amphetamines in it and so it got refused classification.

So, this item... it claims to be an anal probe, but the article says it "lets you launch enemies and NPCs across the horizon". Is this like those TF2 weapons that looks like one thing and behaves like something completely different, or is there something we're not being told? I find it hard to believe a ratings board that accepted the last Saint's Row game's giant dildo* would draw the line at something that merely calls itself an anal probe.

*(It did, right? I don't recall any big kerfuffle when Saint's Row the Third came out, but I haven't been paying close attention to Australia outside of the R18 campaign itself.)

I imagine it functions much like the octopus gun from SR3. It probably hits the target and triggers an animation where the thing forcibly shoves itself up the target's ass, then a rocket thruster or something in it kicks in and sends them flying out of sight.

They could have moved it to DLC to get around the classification board as it only covers games sold in Australia, not DLC sold online ;-) I must say cleaver move if that's what their doing.

Taking money upfront for a product that is still not determined its content (not made yet) should be illegal, yes, because essentialy you are selling promises.
I have never bought a season pass nor i ever will.

If a kickstarter campaign is "give us money and we will make something for the game but we wont say what" then yes.

You silly boy. The thing is you ARE aware of what you are buying when you buy a season pass. For CoD, you know you are buying extra maps as and when they are released. For BF3, you know you are buying extra game modes and extra maps as and when they are released.

For Saints Row games, you are aware that you are buying additional storylines, weapons etc etc as and when they are released.

Are you? or are you just guessing based on what was done in other games? or perhaps you are being sold on nice words from the publishers?
