Dead Or Alive 5: Ultimate Trailer Offers Breasts Aplenty

A new trailer has arrived for the upcoming Dead Or Alive 5: Ultimate which focuses on the game's new swimsuits. It's a Team Ninja joint, what did you expect?

Dead Or Alive 5: Ultimate is, as its title suggests, the "ultimate" version of Dead Or Alive 5, a game that was initially released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, then ported to the Vita handheld as Dead Or Alive 5+. What exactly does this mean for you, the player? Alongside a handful of balance and gameplay tweaks, Dead Or Alive 5: Ultimate is said to offer far more content than its predecessors. Translation: Each character should have a massive number of costumes.

And of course, since this a Dead Or Alive title, many of those costumes take the form of revealing swimsuits. That trailer embedded here? It's specifically dedicated to the new selection of swimwear in Dead Or Alive 5: Ultimate. While it is a Japanese clip, you really don't need to know the language to pick up on the subtleties present in this video, mostly because there are none. This is pretty blatant cheesecake, so if physically improbable virtual boobs are your thing, then today's your lucky day.

Dead Or Alive 5: Ultimate is currently scheduled for release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on September 3. There's also an arcade version of the game in the works, but those releases are generally lengthy, tiered affairs, so the best we can tell you is that it should appear right around the same time as the console game (and that unless you live in Japan, you'll probably never see a Dead Or Alive 5: Ultimate cabinet).

I haven't even clicked the video, and I won't, because I don't have to. The thumbnail is a woman in pearls and pasties with a hilarious bloom effect.

It hurts a bit to look at.

Will the six-axis move the boobs again, or did they abandon that?

It's a good thing that Dead or Alive isn't a pretty good fighting game on it's own. If that were the case it might seem like the breast physics are needlessly excessive.

As the saying goes, birds fly, fish swim, Team Ninja makes games with sentient breasts.
As it has been said above I can already tell how the video will go.
Also, looks like Team Ninja is taking DLC lessons from Capcom it would seem. :p

Well I guess we can rule out Team Ninja as one of the participating developers at the Boobjam summit. :3

Seriously though, I still say that from a mechanical standpoint, DoA is the breast best fighting game series out there. The mechanics are simple to understand with the hit-beats-throw, throw-beats-counter, counter-beats-hit, and yet it's pretty tricky to master. Why? Because it takes actual skill. Reading your opponent, predicting what they're going to do, and reacting accordingly. I just wish more people would take it seriously and appreciate the actual fighting in the game. But, I fully admit, it's hard to take a fighting game seriously when all the female costumes look like they were designed by 14 year old hentai addicts. >.>

I like women in swimsuits, so sue me. If somebody wants to do the same for men, doesn't faze me.

It makes me sigh when the studio resorts to nothing but boobs for their fighting game.

I mean they were the studio behind creating the latest look for the current Transformers Prime show and it looked amazing graphically and not a boob or sexual object was in sight (ys I know Hasbro is in charge but you get the general idea).

They have potential to do great things but don't just fall back on boobs to sell because it just looks idiotic and lame sometimes, like the caveman doing pelvic thrusts while beating his chest over a woman kinds of lame.

Captcha: Knock on wood... Are you being serious here Captcha?.

I love Dead or Alive.

I love women dressed in very little at all.

I love boobs, of course.

Team Ninja has my pre-order as usual!

Edit: Splendid trailer. Keep making 'em like you make 'em TN! <3

As stupid as those games look its amusing to see a developer go out of their way to resist the whole sexism debate, they missed a chance to neatly sidestep it though. There where male fighters in that vid, they could have had budgie smugglers on and had their own jiggle physics too.

Actually, the above is an abridged version of the trailer. I saw the whole one on Sankaku about 12 hours ago. Lee is wearing some snug speedos- and he's not the only man in a swimsuit- but there doesn't appear to be any jiggle.

To be sure, I shall have to watch it again. Frame by frame.

As for their "resistance" of the debate, I like to think they hear their opponents and just don't give a damn.

Look, these are the people that decided Samus Aran needed to wear high heels, they know what their opinion of women is and it's not that they're strong worthwhile people in their own right.

I'd be disappointed but it's been almost twenty years now and Team Ninja have resolutely not changed a bit, just look somewhere else!

except they have proved they could do something different these past 20 years with a show like TF Prime (hence why the image was provided) so they can change but hey stick with boobs but it won't outsell and become the No1. fighting game of all time forever.

Also isn't telling me to look somewhere else like letting them do what they want yet we've seen many on here complain about COD being the same for years on end yet it's A-Ok for one studio like Team ninja to get a free pass?, somehow that doesn't fly with me.

Also...does this still sell? I mean its not like there arent any better fighting games like SF4 or BlazBlue
Surely you mean like King of Fighters XIII? :p

And yeah, DoA sells quite well. There's no competitive scene (not even compared to the ghost town of P4A and KOFXIII competitive), so the low online profile gives the impression that it doesn't ship, but you can always get a matchmade fight, even in the old DoA 4!

I could live without Ultimate, make do with DoA5 vanilla, but I'll grab it anyway. I'll support Team Ninja for as long as they do what they do.

Cripes more female power fantasy games, about beating up men. I'm so tired of this culture and it's misandry; down with the matriarchy.

So it seems 14 year old girls in bikinis is what makes it the 'Ultimate' version. Because videogames.

Jesus Christ, this industry...

Where are all the white-knights and the sexism in videogames crowd? Where is the finger-pointing and male-blaming?

Oh, you must all be attacking Dragon's Crown still. Pardon me, carry on sieging a game that literally has done nothing to hurt you or the industry.

OT: I remember the good 'ol days when people could see a game like this, or Dragon's Crown (its really sad they're even compared) and you could simply not like it, and not buy it. Then that was that, and you moved on. These days, it seems every single game with a female that isn't wrapped up in a burka needs to be censored, or boycotted, or attacked. And those males that have the audacity to be subject to their genetic programming? We're all "Sexist, misogynist rape-culture advocates."

Right. Riiight.

I hope people lay off Team Ninja this time. There's no reason we can't have exploitation games alongside the more artsy stuff.

I'd hardly call a lot of boobs a bad thing.

Plus, DOA has always been a solid fighting game.
