World Zombination Invites You to Eat Your Friends' Brains

World Zombination takes a look at the zombie apocalypse from a less common perspective - the zombies'.

Zombie uprisings are pretty played-out at this point, but it isn't often that we can try our hand at playing plaguelord and directing the spread of the infection ourselves. Proletariat Inc. aims to scratch that itch with World Zombination [http://worldzombination.com/], an asymmetric multiplayer strategy game pitting humans against ex-humans, where each faction offers a different gameplay experience. Players on the side of the Survivors control small bands of intrepid heroes stemming the undead tide, while Infected players command massive hordes of assorted zombies with the goal of infecting every corner of the globe.

World Zombination is the first major release from Proletariat, a team of industry veterans who banded together after the fall of Zynga Boston [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/122386-Proletariat-Inc-Rises-From-Zynga-Bostons-Ashes]. "This is the sort of game we love to play," says Proletariat CEO Seth Sivak. "With World Zombination, we've come up with fun and unique gameplay that real-time strategy gamers will find refreshing." As a large-scale strategy game, expect less running and gunning and more coordinated planning between players to control a shifting world map.

None of that fun and unique gameplay has actually been shown just yet, but there's still plenty of time before the game's 2014 release. Proletariat is developing World Zombination for PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices, with a focus on bringing gaming quality to mobile devices as well as more traditional platforms.

Aww, a zombie game from a zombie point of view was the next game we had lined up for development. Well good for them, I can't wait to play it.

This looks very interesting and I really like how the zombies still kind of retain their humanity (at least in this video) like the brain on a stick training for the runner, target practice for the spitter, and the brute's love of butterflies.

Only downside is it reminds me way too much of L4D.

Eh videos with no gameplay don't really offer me anything. I will be interested in seeing a gameplay video though.

I've been crying out for something like this for a LONG time, and I've always had more fun playing as the infected in L4D than as the survivors. I've entertained the idea of a game where you play as some sort of 'hoard overlord'...

My immediate thought was this looks like the kind of rip-off character designs I'd expect from Zynga. "...the first major release from Proletariat, a team of industry veterans who banded together after the fall of Zynga Boston." I see they haven't lost their creativity.

All this makes me think is that Stubbs the Zombie needs a sequel. That game had so much charm to it.

I remember that once they would make a game like this. Some kind of RTS/Free Roam/Level based like game. Story was you we're betrayed, killed and hidden in a vat of very lovely chemicals. Obviously you crawled out as a Zombie Master/Commander. Retaining brainpower like that meant you could control other zombies. And you get a few first zombies and begin to attack the upper world in search of revenge.

You control them a bit like that dutch game where you are a bad dude and swipe your armies around.

When was it again? 2007 or so!

Eh this game though, well.. I guess why not it will probably be a bit to browser game style for me but it looks like a half decent idea.
