Zombies, Plants and Peggle 2 Will Come To Xbox One First

PopCap aims to colonize the Xbone first, then spread its seeds elsewhere.

Microsoft's Phil Spencer has said that PopCap's Peggle 2 and Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare will both be coming to the Xbox One first. No firm release dates have been announced, though Peggle 2 is to be a launch title. Garden Warfare will launch sometime next year. Garden Warfare - and presumably also Peggle 2 - will eventually migrate to other platforms, including PC, after the Xbox One debut.

had its charms [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/124786-PopCap-Announces-Plants-Vs-Zombies-Garden-Warfare], so it's no surprise it's getting a sequel.

So ... hooray? I suppose? Yes. That seems appropriate. Hooray, then. Now coffee.

Oh wow! I mean I was a little let down with the xbox one, but this has completely changed my mind! Peggle 2?! Microsoft you've outdone yourself yet again! Why did I ever doubt you?! 10/10 console of the millenium.

Y'know... I'm really tired of Microsoft.

I'm really tired of these timed exclusivity deals. It's just dumb. And pointless. And dumb.

I don't even care about Peggle 2 and Garden Warfare. This is still dumb.

What's amazing is really that this cutting edge system with it's super graphics will be running...basically, casual flash games. Of course there will be the usual exclusives, Halo, likely another Fablegame, gears of War but at this point if you've played any of those games in the last few years you know what you're in for, the same graphis just slightly browner because it's more realistic.
Nah, brown and gray is last year. The new trend is going to be following the "Hollywood blockbuster visual" formula and everything is going to be blue and orange with eye-bleeding filters over everything.

Well Sony, Nintendo you may as well pack up shop and head home, there's no bouncing back from this! No but seriously, who the fuck cares about this? Why even bother securing that timed exclusive.

And isn't it weird how EA and Microsoft are getting so friendly with one another? And by that I of course mean the opposite. They're such a match made in heaven I'm surprised the two shitstains didn't snuggle up sooner.

I absolutely agree with you on this. I hate times exclusives. They just raise a smug sense is superiority for people to rub it in others faces. And annoy the consumers getting screwed over.

Yes Yes! Becaue there is nothing that is going to make me queue up to drop 5 big ones on a shiny new XBox 180 as a series of timed exclusives of what are essentially IOS games. PEGGLE OR DIE DUDE!!!

Yes, this is clearly the best way to distribute PopCap's games to an audience that wants their games the most. Definitely has nothing to do with the giant mountain of money that PopCap recently relocated its headquarters to.

Honestly, Microsoft's just grasping at straws now to try and find some way to gain an edge over its competitors. I know they tried hard, but the Xbox One is both more expensive than the PS4 and less powerful. Unless Halo 5 is the greatest game EVAR OF ALL TYMEZ, I don't think Microsoft has much to sell the console on.

Won't pretty much everyone who actually cares about these games already have the basic games on IOS? Who would be willing to spend hundreds of dollars just to get Plants and Zombies slightly earlier?

They really just can't stop digging themselves deeper. First they release the sequel to a popular PC, and later multiplatform, game as a free-to-play iOS exclusive, now they follow that up by releasing another sequel to the casual flash game as an Xbone exclusive. The stupidity is only matched by Microsoft getting casual flash games as exclusives to demonstrate the power of it's amazing new console.

If they make it have in app purchases, I won't get it for PC.
I doubt it, since this game isn't made with iCrap users in mind. It will probably have some annoying day 1 DLC that includes some cool plants that were supposed to be there to begin with.

If they do decide to put in-app purchases in it, I share your sentiment.
