Get GTA V 20 Percent Off at Toys R Us This Weekend

Get Rockstar's latest game, or practically any other, for a steal of a price through tomorrow.


If you've been holding off on picking up Grand Theft Auto V until it goes on sale, Toys R Us just did you a solid. Through tomorrow, Sept. 21, the retailer is offering a 20 percent off coupon good for just about any purchase, including video games. The coupon is valid in-store or online through using the code FRIENDS20 at checkout.

Granted, Rockstar doesn't need the sales help at this point, considering it <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/128014-Grand-Theft-Auto-V-Breaks-1-Billion-In-Three-Days>broke $1 billion in sales in the same amount of time Toys R Us' sale is going on. Still, it's nice to get a price break especially so early in a big title's release.

The code is good for just about any toy or game in the store, so if committing crimes across Los Santos isn't your thing you can still cash it in to give hellspawn what-for in Diablo III, to bring Sam Fisher out of retirement in Splinter Cell: Blacklist or just round out your Star Wars action figure collection. The discount isn't valid for videogame hardware, though, so those of you hoping to maybe pick up a Vita or 3DS on the cheap are out of luck.

If I were buying this game for consoles, or any other game, actually, I'd probably consider taking advantage of this. But nope, my PS3 is currently unavailable and I've moved away from console gaming in general thanks to that.

Funny actually, some of Tarantino's movies were distributed through a Disney studio.

So tempted to get this, but I have so many games I haven't played already. I don't want to be one of those people that owns a lot of games from bundles and sales and has played almost none of them (too late). I'm barely into Yakuza 3, want to try Dark Souls, haven't even played Batman AC yet, and the Humble bundles and gog sales..... WHY DIDN'T THEY INVENT MORE HOURS FOR DAYS YET?! Where do I find the time.... ;_;

I'd like to sit down Toys R' Us' Purchasing director or however it is you call the guy who handles promotions and franchise-wide sales and just sit him down. Yes, there's a shit-load of cash to be made with this - but do you really want to be selling THAT in a place where four year-olds get their first pedal bikes?!

Possibly because adults of the "nerd/gamer" culture do shop there as well... And either way since its not legal to sell those games to kids, its the parents responsibility to not buy the game for them. Also parents do play games. And the last idea, profit from sales is a good way for them to justify it.
Is it right? Define what is "right" because as long as the ESRB guideline is followed and the store doesn't sell to underage kids, then they have every right to sell it.
Again this boils down to the parents and their role, not the store's role in making sure the parents don't buy the game. Sure they could opt out of selling it, but they've chosen to leave the responsibility in the hands of the parents instead of not selling it at all. I do remember they also sell other M rated games.

ERM, it is legal to sell any content to any age except adult only pornographic content. The rating is only a suggestion That being said, most stores have internal rules that pretty much make suggestions into internal laws.

So an adult while going out to buy a toy to his child can see the game and buy it for himself while hes at the place. makes sense. sort of why supermarkets stock on stuff like camping equipment, people go by think "i need that anyway" and buy it at location. saves time, makes profit, everyones happy.
and if something like a shop name is enough for you to think things are kid-friendly you shouldn't be allowed to have children.
