Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Pushed Back to February 2014

The next Donkey Kong Country needs to chill a little longer before serving.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will not hit stores until February, 2014. Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced the delay during this morning's Nintendo Direct [http://www.nintendo.com/nintendo-direct/archive/10-01-2013/] address.

"In order to deliver the optimum gaming experience, we need a little more time for development of this title," said Iwata. "We would like to apologize for this delay, and hope you understand."

Tropical Freeze, Retro's Wii U follow-up to Donkey Kong Country Returns, was previously on track to come out December 6. Tropical Freeze will reincorporate the extended Kong family into the series with the return of Dixie Kong [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/124837-Donkey-Kong-Country-Tropical-Freeze-Sees-Dixie-Join-Diddy-and-DK].

Not good, I'm glad they're taking the time to polish the game and make sure that it's in great working order but missing the hectic holiday season must hurt them sales wise.

Sadness. I was looking forward to this. I will wait for you Donkey Kong, I'll never stop waiting.

Why do the Wii U games I want keep getting pushed back? Now granted Lost World was only moved back 1 week, but this still makes me sad. I wanna play Wii U games dammit, and I don't get Wind Waker U until it comes out on physical disc until Friday! >.<

aaaaaaah!

This wouldn't be so bad if it was a 3DS exclusive. (Since there are so many games users can choose from.)
The WiiU however could of really used that game to add to the holiday lineup.

But...this isn't the first time Retro has delayed a game? I wonder what went wrong.

I bet you it was a last minute business decision that couldn't be implemented/changed in time for release.

I was really looking forward to this over the holidays but in a way I'm glad it's been moved back so I have more time to enjoy the games already coming out. I'm already fretting over what to play this October, let alone November. Still, this was the WiiU game I was looking forward to the most aside from SMTxFE. I played the demo at PAX Prime and it was super fun.

Nintendo at E3 said this game would be coming out sooner than expected, but I guess not.
