Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies Trailer Features English Voices

A few familiar voice actors have roles in the next Ace Attorney game.

Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies received a little attention in yesterday's Nintendo Direct, and with its demo now available through the Nintendo eShop, Nintendo also posted an English trailer of the game. A few familiar voices grace the series for the first time with the series' trip into 3D.

Defense Attorney Phoenix Wright is back and now he's voiced by Sam Riegel. Recently, Riegel has voiced protagonist Jude Mathis from Tales of Xillia, but he's also played Teddie in Persona 4: Golden, Allegretto in Eternal Sonata, Stahl and Donnel in Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Donatello in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003 series.

New to Ace Attorney, Athena Cykes is also a defense attorney with a specialty in analytical psychology, making use of the new device "Mood Matrix." Athena is voiced by Wendee Lee, heard in Killer is Dead as Alice, Virtue's Last Reward as Clover, Tales of Graces as young Richard, and Digimon as T.K.

According to IMDb, Orion Acaba provides his voice for Apollo Justice. While Acaba cannot be heard in the trailer, in the past his roles have included Ivar from Tales of Xillia, Jonathan in Shin Megami Tensei IV, and Kellam and Gerome in Fire Emblem: Awakening.

The trailer opens with ominous words from Phoenix: "These are dark times, where the law has been reduced to rubble, and it's up to us to restore it to its former glory." However, judging by the animated trailer, the game still has the same silly, lighthearted attitude.

Dammit... Guess I do have to stump up the cash for a 3DS after all. I was hoping to just ignore its existence so I don't go and buy a whole system for one game, balls to that that was a really good trailer. Like sticking it on repeat good, I ain't done that for ages.

Didn't Sam Riegel voice Phoenix Wright in UMVC3 as well? Well, not that anyone fucking cared because the PW players were pretty much me, about 2 others online and Lythero, the best PW player in the world.

I hope this new mechanic isn't going to be like the one in AJ where it's used about 4 times and never close to its full potential.

Wait... Waaiiiit. This means there will a new Objection! for Phoenix in game right? The old one was fucking fantastic, beaten only by Edgeworth. Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst.

This has gotta be the most kid-friendly game ever to get an M rating in the US.

P.S. Thanks

I'm not sure why the trailer had to tell you that there are "new cases" in the game. I'd be having a word with Capcom if there weren't. XD

As many others have already said, I have to buy a 3DS just for this game. Yeah, I'll probably get some other games, but this is the only game I care about enough to get it.

I'm really beginning to wonder why I sold my 3DS when I am in love with this series. I might have to buy a 3DS again just for this game. Not sure on Athena yet but I'm sure I'll warm to her, I wasn't fond of Godot at the start of T&T then I was weeping for him at the end. I love the characterisation in this series. The voices sound good, too.

Whoa whoa whoa. Are we talking full voice acting for all dialogue? Or just cutscenes and

That.

Only for the cutscenes. The Japanese version still uses the same classic style. Even the demo is using the old style.
