See Inside Titanfall With Respawn Video Presentation

"Ultimately it's you who'll determine our fate as a studio," says Community Manager Abbie Heppe.

Respawn's got a lot on the line with its mech-based multiplayer FPS got into hot water after leaving Infinity Ward [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/127956-Titanfall-Hands-On-Preview-Like-CoD-on-Steroids] - hasn't yet announced a release date for its debut game. But Respawn isn't about to keep its mouth shut, not when it can head out to, say, Australia and show off explosive goodness. Some of it you may have seen before, but - as Heppe knows full well - it's you who'll decide Respawn's fate as a studio, so Respawn wants you to see as much as you can of its shooter.

"A minute to learn, a lifetime to master," Heppe promises. "That's the only way you reach a broad audience." For those of you who've been hiding under a rock and not heard of this one before, you play as a rebel soldier in a far-off future, using giant mechs - the Titans - to put the hurt on your oppressors. The combination of tiny-tiny man and great big mech on the battlefield at the same time has proved challenging, but fun. "What's cool is each map has areas for Titans and areas for Pilots, so you get these smaller maps built into the larger ones and all these cool pathways through them," said Heppe back in July [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/126199-Respawn-Talks-Maximizing-Mechs-in-Titanfall].

This is an Xbox One title - as Microsoft has been very keen to tell the world [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/128138-Microsofts-Harrison-We-Are-Winning-The-Games-Message] - as well as Xbox 360 and PC. It will probably make its debut in Q1 2014.

I really can't understand the appeal of Titanfall, it looks like it's doing too much at once and will essentially be spread too thin. Maybe mechs on their own would have made it more interesting, but having mechs, jetpacks, parkour and it only being an online multiplayer game makes it feel like it's kind of throwing everything popular in the last few years together and hoping the compounds mix right.

But hey, I could be completely wrong and it could be a stellar game.

With the amount of hype this game is generating I don't think they have much to worry about their studio going under.

2) It looks so goddamned grey.
I've resigned myself to games being gray in recent times, but my issue with this game and it's grayness is that it's running the Source Engine. You know the engine that made Team Fortress 2, a bright and colourful and aesthetically beautiful game.

Nice renders yes, but aesthetically dead and bland.

You lost my purchase when you signed up for the Xbox exclusive contract, I hope the extra money Microsoft gave you was worth the loss of the potential fanbase.

It's on PC as well.

I don't get why everyone from news articles to random comments seem to insist that this game is Xbox exclusive. [sub][sub](Clarification: Not this particular news article. Others.[/sub][/sub]

More OT: I think the biggest problem I have with this game is how fucking bland it looks. Me and a friend saw the art for the cover without the name, and we were having trouble deciding if it was from Dead Space, Killzone, or Lost Planet.
