I'm calling BS on the Alfred Hitchcock cameo. Hitchcock would never 'accidentally' walk his dogs in the middle of a set with the cameras rolling, that scene was set up since he insisted on cameoing in all of his movies. It isn't something he'd just forget, especially since he'd be the one shouting "action."

Also agreeing with Evilengine, walknig out of a pet store seems was too much of a coincidence. He was a master of film in every detail its not his style to forget.
