Call of Duty: Ghosts Launch Trailer Brings a Dog to a Wolf Fight

The Call of Duty: Ghosts launch trailer finally reveals why it's so important to have a dog on the team.

An awful lot happens in the new Call of Duty: Ghosts launch trailer. An aircraft carrier blows up and a jet crashes and a guy rappels face-first into a burning building - because that's how all the cool kids do it - and someone ducks under a rolling helicopter and then we all go swimming while Eminem drops a pulsing backbeat that no good guerrilla conflict should be without. But the highlight - the absolute, unquestionable peak moment - has to be when the evil, presumably Brazilian wolves show up. Because you've got a dog, right? He needs something to do too!

And then a guy walks down the side of a building and we go into space and it is, as they say, just another day in the CoD universe. I can't say it doesn't look like fun, but it's all a bit much, isn't it?

And why does it look like that person in the spacesuit hanging on for dear life at the very end is being pulled "down" by gravity, anyway? Aren't they in, like... space?

Hey man, I just work here. Call of Duty: Ghosts comes out on November 5 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC, November 15 for the PlayStation 4 and November 22 for the Xbox One.

Disregarding the ending little bit, there were like 13 seconds where there wasn't fire and explosions, and like 5 of those were under water. So I'm going to assume this game is 90% explosions, but not good explosions that happen as a natural part of gameplay, scripted explosions that happen in the same way, every time and allow for no creativity in gameplay.

I love those quotes from various sites telling us how great the game is even though no one played it yet.

You know, if it were possible to buy ONLY the CoD campaigns at a reduced price...I'd buy that. Not very deep or complex, but good for letting off steam for a short while.

Wait, this game takes place in Brazil? Looks kinda crispy to be a forest in Brazil, but maybe because it's war-torn? And if it is, I get to say this.

I hate to be "that guy" but I call shenanigans on you, COD. I can stand the unashamed gun and explosion porn, but THIS is plain unrealistic. There are no wolves in Brazil or South America in general. Shenanigans I say!

Only "wolves" South America has are Maned Wolves, who are both not wolves at all AND hilariously awkward looking.

And if this is a case where militants brought down wolves from up north, I call shenanigans again because you're most likely better off getting a German Shepherd or Malinois.

Looks entertaining.

Still, no sale (barring massive discount) though if they are going to keep it horribly optimized and try to get me to pay for it and waste 50 gigs downloading it.

Maybe if they cut it down to where it should be I will purchase it outside of a 75% off steam sale.
Those specs were confirmed false like a day after they were announced. They were what nvidia guessed at and were utter bullshit.

Unless the wolves are mocap wolves/small people in costumes, how am I supposed to feel the emotional connection to my mocap dog when he inevitably saves a fully trained and armed soldier from fucking wolves?

Obligatory:

If BF$'s campaign turns out anything like BFBC1, then I will feel absolutely nothing about skipping this game. Games like Call of Duty that are more about action than gameplay are ruining my love for action movies. I watch something like Predator now and I think to myself "Well that's fine, but where are the intense close quarters knife/flamethrower fights, the explosions, and the big war going on in the background with jets and stuff?"
