Vote in Round One Now - Reader's Choice GOTY 2013 Bracket Tournament

The first round of matchups lets you vote for your favorite title as games go head-to-head in The Escapist Reader's Choice Game of the Year 2013.

Shooters shoot it out: BioShock: Infinite versus Call of Duty: Ghosts. Open worlds collide: Grand Theft Auto V versus Dead Rising 3. The little monsters of Pokemon X & Y versus a little game called Tomb Raider. The first round of The Escapist Reader's Choice Game of the Year 2013 is filled with crazy matchups Which game will make it to the next round? You can decide by heading to the official bracket to begin picking games now! [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/tournaments/standings/10]

As of this morning, voting is open, so head to our Reader's Choice GOTY page [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/tournaments/main/10] to let your voice be heard. And if you want to make sure your favorite game wins, you have until Tuesday, December 10th at 11:59pm EST to get your friends to vote! Papers, Please, anyone?

Vote for your favorite game now in the first round of The Escapist Reader's Choice Game of the Year 2013. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/tournaments/standings/10]

We've got some very hotly contested matches already. There's only a few votes in so far, but in the battle of the Quatros, it looks like Saints Row 4 barely beating out the pirates of Assassin's Creed 4. And Sony's flagship Killzone: Shadow Fall is narrowly losing to Battlefield 4. If any of that sounds off to you, you better head over and vote now! [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/tournaments/standings/10]

And if you'd like to duke it out in the forums about which game deserves to move on to the next round, feel free to visit the dedicated forums [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/index/658]. We love good arguments! And we've created threads for each of the matchups so speak your mind.

I suspect that up until the end, this will be a pretty straightforward event.

The Last of Us, GTAV, Papers Please and Bioshock Infinite will most likely be the final four. Pokemon possibly switching out with one of them.

After that, I suspect it will start to become much harder to determine.

I go to my bracket, but I can't seem to actually be able to fill out my predictions.

Also the 'click here' hyperlink under the 'Filling out your bracket' heading takes me to an hilariously bugged "March Mayhem 2012" screen. Complete with a random picture of Lisa Foiles staring into my soul and judging me.

I filled out the My Bracket page last week, but the Official Bracket page doesn't have any buttons as yet. I'm using Chrome, if that makes a difference.

Sorry about the bugs!

Just click on one of the matchups and it should bring you to the voting page. Let me know if that's not working!

Woah, Gnarly indeed. Should be fixed now, thanks!

Did you try clicking on official bracket link and click on a matchup? http://www.escapistmagazine.com/tournaments/standings/10

That should bring you to the voting pages where you click below each games' picture.

Let me know if that works!

Hello Mr Tito, thanks for the response! Yeah I click on the match-ups and it takes me to the page, but there's no Vote button next to either game.

You probably already voted without realizing it, but let me double-check with ThyNameIsMud.

I'm in the same position. I see no VOTE button of any sort.

Edit: It's working now, and I made no changes on my end.

I look at this list, and I realize something...

This was not my year for video games. And from what is set to come out this month, it still won't be.

The only game I've played that came out is MGR, and that's not on the list. I completely understand that much, considering the reputation of all the games in the brackets. But, dang.

All the games I play now came out as early as 2012, and are still good. I think that speaks more to me as a gamer than anything else, as I have become more picky in what I play.

As for a winner, I predict Stanford takes it all. That or Firefly.

Or The Last of Us...

Huh. That was indeed exactly my predicted final 4 as well. (There's a guy on the Facebook comments predicting Battlefield 4 over Infinite, which strikes me as highly improbable.) I suspect The Last of Us will emerge triumphant overall.

In hindsight, though, I see that I picked Killzone to beat Battlefield 4, which suggests BF4's maybe a wee bit more popular than I tend to give it credit for.

Turns out I did indeed vote without realising/remembering, because I'm an idiot. Hope I didn't waste said votes.

Yeah it's working great now, Thanks!

Hopefully this will be a lot less heated than March Mayhem, but I still kind of miss the madness we got then, it's a great idea and I hope this GOTY tournament idea really kicks off.

Is it a point of the event to keep the voting tallies under wraps, or is there a way to keep up with how they're doing?

I needed to click on the name of a game to start voting but beside that everything worked falwlessly. no way to know if it actually "counted" the vote but i guess they did.

Also i couldnt find official commenting thread, so thanks Tito for that link.
