Update: Skyrim For PS4 and Xbox One Outed On Official Bethesda Site
Keen-eyed fans spotted Xbox One and PS4 appear in the "available platforms" section of Bethesda's Skyrim website.
Update: It turns out it was only a "website error," according to Eurogamer [http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-01-09-bethesda-lists-skyrim-for-ps4-and-xbox-one].
Skyrim, Bethesda's blockbuster open-world yelling-loudly simulator, was released in 2011 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Now, keen-eyed fans have spotted an Xbox One and PS4 listing for the game appear on the official Bethesda website [http://bethsoft.com/en-us/games/skyrim]. It appears that the game's launch on next-gen (current-gen?) consoles is imminent.
On the website, the Xbox One and PS4 options are grayed out, unlike the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 options which hyperlink to online retailers. As for Skyrim's three DLC packs: Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn, they are still currently listed as only being available on PS3, PC and Xbox 360, but one would assume that the next-gen version would be the "legendary edition" that compiles all of the game's DLC.
Furthermore, an e-mail from the official Bethesda store is burned by Bethesda hoaxes before [http://imgur.com/Icmszrn].
The Escapist has not received said e-mail, but we have reached out to Bethesda for comment.
