Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare Release Delayed Ever so Slightly

The Plants vs. Zombies console shooter will suffer an epic one-week delay.

The release date for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, a third-person shooter based on the popular mobile series, has been pushed back one week, developer Popcap announced today. Originally set to arrive on Xbox One and Xbox 360 February 18 [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/129880-Plants-vs-Zombies-Garden-Warfare-Xbox-One-Release-Date], Garden Warfare will now hit stores February 25 in North America and February 27 in Europe.

In PvZ: Garden Warfare, players take control of both the plants and the zombies, shooting the crap out of each other in 12-on-12 team games, or working together in a four-player co-op adaptation of the original PvZ, where the plants defend their home from zombie invaders. The developer diary above shows off a some "Garden Ops" gameplay - yes, that is what the co-op is called - and reveals a couple of new co-op bosses, the Yeti and Giga-Gargantuar zombies.

That looks like it would be a blast to play. It's got an Iron Brigade feel to it. Hopefully it doesn't suffer from connectivity issues like so many similar games on XBLA.

Oops, forgot the obvious pun. Looks like another garden variety TPS to me...

Yep still do not care. After EA stepped in and REWROTE the last PVZ game with a great big screw you to the fans, I am done with this series. That "patch" that changed the GUI and made it a microtransaction mess was total bullshit. Popcap made a great game that you did not have to pay to play but it was an option to speed things up. That did not even last a damn month....

This is... WAAAAY to good to be a PvZ game... it looks complex with actual strategies and teamwork involved... it's actually winning me over...
